AIBU to find this interesting?

YABU: She doesn't know what she's talking about

YANBU: It is deeply concerning

They don't know what causes autism, but you're positive vaccines don't? Because someone on the news and the scientific community told you?

Because the alleged link between vaccines and autism has been disproven time and time again. It has been so widely studied that if there was any link there would have at least been a hint of it found. Autism is caused predominantly by genetic factors.

Vaccines do not cause autism.

"Big Pharma paying off doctors more if they diagnose a case as COVID and triple that amount if they put a patient on a ventilator". Am truly conflicted whether to PMSL, give up on sections of humanity's monumental credulous stupidity or to wonder where to find these payments from this Big Pharma entity.

So you would rather listen to someone who only in it for their 5 minutes of glory on the internet

R1R2 · 18/05/2020 15:06

Yes its a big conspiracy Jane, thats why they cant publish to the massive amount of INDEPENDENT sites in fact these cunts have no papers so cant even self publish to their own sites they just spout nonsense from alt media dickheads YouTube channels where the average IQ is low enough for it to skate by without scrutiny.
Try asking yourself a few questions rather than being a delivery vehicle for propaganda.

There is an interesting research that antivaxxers vastly over estimate their knowledge of autism compared to doctors and scientists

Our analysis indicates that this overconfidence is highest among those with low levels of knowledge about the causes of autism and those with high levels of misinformation endorsement. Further, our results suggest that this overconfidence is associated with opposition to mandatory vaccination policy. Overconfidence is also associated with increased support for the role that non-experts (e.g., celebrities) play in the policymaking process.]]

Framed?
How do you frame someone if 2 plus 2 doesnt add up?
Because that's what science is, you know, lots 9f people testing and testing and testing again, and seeing what turns out to be correct.
Ever heard of peer review? Ever heard of replication?

R1R2 · 18/05/2020 15:20

Oh shit its Bill Gates the idiot who release an operating system without glaring security flaws is somehow in charge of a global conspiracy

Zilla1 · 18/05/2020 15:27

Picturing a healthy patient looking puzzled as big-pharma bribed doctor fights to sedate and ventilate them in aerosol-producing procedure to the tune to Raymond Scott's Powerhouse.

I wonder how they decide which of the HCPs will take one for the team to maintain the 'illusion' of healthy, under-65 HCP excess COVID deaths.

R1R2 · 18/05/2020 15:31

@Zilla1 Is the Doctor in question Wile E. Coyote?

ArbitraryNameChange · 18/05/2020 15:35

Ooooh I love a good anti vaxxer / big Pharma/ plandemic thread.

All anti vaxxers are in my experience, utterly barking. I'm still waiting for several to explain to me how vaccines cause autism, how covid 19 is all a big set up and how 5g will kill us all. Lucky I didn't hold my breath.

Zilla1 · 18/05/2020 15:50

R1R2, yes, before this thread, I'd pictured everything COVID-related as Terry Thomas stroking his moustache but I think Wile E Coyote works. Would that make the patient in ITU road runner?

I'm genuinely puzzled how people can look at a youtube video and believe totally in something that demonstrably doesn't bear any objective scrutiny and just fall back on 'think for yourself' when gently or not challenged or someone just doesn't instantly agree with them. I've seen it happen lots of times with acquaintances and a family member. It looks like there is something truly interesting going on in terms of persuasion or belief.

I feel sorry for those countries who've not implemented 5G but still seem to have COVID. I wonder how that's happened? Chemtrails?

KKSlider · 18/05/2020 16:27

I changed the name of my wifi to "Covid5GTestMast19" because one of our neughbours is a conspiracy theorist and I quite enjoyed the hand wringing about it on the residents group Grin

Kirschcherry · 18/05/2020 16:36

Christ, this again. I think at this point you have to remind yourself that you can’t argue with stupid. It is the people who can not have the vaccine for genuine medical reasons and who will rely on us to provide them with herd immunity that I worry about. Hopefully these idiots are in enough of a minority so that as a society we can still manage to protect not just ourselves but those who need us to protect them.

JellyfishandShells · 18/05/2020 17:07

And if you did some research..

AKA going round in circles of the same echo chamber of nut job theorists.

Was there some kind of silent whistle signal that brought all the antivaxxers/anti science blatherers out to play on this thread ?

KKSlider · 18/05/2020 17:19

I took it as shock puppeting.

KKSlider · 18/05/2020 17:20

Sock, even

opticaldelusion · 18/05/2020 17:26

Why are you sharing this, OP? People who deliberately share misinformation - like yourself - are a massive problem.

Zilla1 · 18/05/2020 17:27

Shock puppeting, KKSlider? More than Team America or Avenue Q (haven't seen Avenue Q but was struggling for shock puppetry possible examples)?

ToPlanZ · 18/05/2020 18:37

I can't understand how anyone with any common sense watches Fox news. It's so ridiculous that it's actually comedic

boredtotears11 · 18/05/2020 19:19

Should we be a bit fearful of 5g?

Zilla1 · 18/05/2020 19:36

Fearful of 5g? Arguably possibly for the socio-economic implications of IoT, perhaps less so for it's COVID-inducing properties.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 18/05/2020 19:38

video and thankfully manages not to make it a personal attack on Dr Mikovits

I’d normally agree, but I think in Mikovits’ case it’s reasonable to treat anything said with a large degree of scepticism or disregard it totally because of who she is.

She’s probably an extension Scopie’s law on linking to whale.to.
