Dog walkers

Lockdowner13 · 16/05/2020 09:42

I’ve noticed that since the places we can visit are restricted at the moment due to virus, just how many dog walkers there are.

I’m finding it impossible to take kids out without seeing dog off it’s lead. I really don’t like dogs much.

I’m finding that dog owners round here are selfish. Taking up the whole of the path so I need to run in the road, off lead when kids are walking, taking over the local green space.

AIBU to think that during lockdown some better rules should have been implemented. Eg dog free hours for exercise. We usually go to dog free places for our fun. Eg kids parks, cafes, national trust. Now I’m being forced to mix with dogs and it’s annoying me.

@DrinkVeneer why are you getting involved. What have I done to you?

Unless your OPs second account? Only reason for this strange and strong reaction.

And yes @Lockdowner13 and I guess @DrinkVeneer spiders do poop all animals do

Alymcnabs · 16/05/2020 22:30

This thread is becoming more bonkers by the minute 🙈 I’m off to take my ferocious, salivating, rabid, off lead beasts for their last walk of the day now. OP if you find a link telling me I have to keep my dogs on a lead please tag me. I very much doubt you will... Have a good night

twinkle2306 · 16/05/2020 22:30

Not sure why it's gone bold. But it still holds my point just a bit more dramatically.

I'll blame the spiders

DrinkVeneer · 16/05/2020 22:32

I just thought what you said was stupid, @twinkle2306.

Lockdowner13 · 16/05/2020 22:33

Shock! More than one person doesn’t enjoy selfish dog owners. No it’s not my second account. Sigh.

Just a question about spider poo...does it cause blindness too? Does it ruin a perfectly good pair of shoes? Does it stink so badly it makes you gag as you scrape it from your pram wheels for the 2nd time in a week?

twinkle2306 · 16/05/2020 22:34

@Lockdowner13 what about fox poo, bird poo, hedgehog poo, badger poo, deer poo, cat poo...

All types of poo, all can be found at your local parks, all can be stepped in. Especially fox poo. Are we going to ask for a designated zone for them too?

Coastercat · 16/05/2020 22:35

I do always thank people for calling back their dogs, but as I said, your dog, your lifestyle choice. If you didn’t want to have to keep calling your dog back, interrupting your walk, you shouldn’t have got one in the first place.

Lockdowner13 · 16/05/2020 22:40

It’s always dog poo though isn’t it? They do it right on pavement. Can’t remember last time I saw a fox shit, bagged up in a poo bag and flung into a tree? Or left on a pile of other shit bags. Who bags up fox poo? Badgers? Or do they do it themselves?

twinkle2306 · 16/05/2020 22:41

@Lockdowner13 so how can you run over it if it's in a tree??

Macncheeseballs · 16/05/2020 22:41

Twinkle ,I'm guessing you're one of the owners who doesn't pick up

twinkle2306 · 16/05/2020 22:43

@Macncheeseballs I pick up, i also walk my dog on a lead. But I have to say in my 5 years of living in a new area with a wooded part I've only ever seen 1 dog poo bag not in the bin.

I've got cool dog poo bags. I want to use them

Lockdowner13 · 16/05/2020 22:43

Twinkle, I’m sorry to report there’s usually more than one pile of poo on my walks. Some have even been in trees. And some on path. Some on grass. I’ve even seen dog poo in a child’s play park before.

Sonichu · 16/05/2020 22:44

"Why are you on mumsnet? It’s a place for people that actually like children. Stop calling my child names"

🤣🤣🤣

twinkle2306 · 16/05/2020 22:46

@Lockdowner13 my point is you can't guarantee 100% it is dog poo. Unless it's been put in a bag and put in a tree. Something that I don't understand why bother picking it up if you're going to put it in a tree?

Anyway... you can't say for sure it is dog poo. If it smells as horrific as you say it's probably actually fox poo which smells much much worse.

Dogs should be kept under control but so should children. At this point of time you have to learn to share.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 16/05/2020 22:48

The wild spiders spend all night hauling dog poop up into trees just to piss off Tarquin’s mummy.

🕷 🕷 🕷 💩

Mon the spiders.

skyblu · 16/05/2020 22:50

YABU.

Lockdowner13 · 16/05/2020 22:51

Are you trying to make “Tarquins mummy” the new “penis beaker” ?

Donttakeno · 16/05/2020 22:51

@twinkle2306 best thing I’ve read all day!! Wild spiders hahaha

OP you are being precious. Take a lead out of twinkles book and get a grip, face your fears. At least dogs are a bit clearer to see from a distance!

twinkle2306 · 16/05/2020 22:53

@AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff knew I should be more suspicious of them 😂

Standupthisisnotateaparty · 16/05/2020 22:55

Brave op mumsnet loves their wittle fur babies and anyone who doesn’t feel the same is evil and wrong.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 16/05/2020 22:56

Don’t be suspicious. Admire them.
