How many tabs open on your phone?

I am wondering whether I might be some kind of digital hoarder.

Just looked and I have 156 tabs open on my phone - everything from toddler play ideas to interrupted podcasts to lengthy opinion pieces. Do most people have this? And do you ever actually go back and do it?

YABU - just clear the whole lot out, it’s digital junk.

YANBU - yes to multiple tabs, it is the modern way to dip in and out (until you change phones!).

I bet all of you with many, many tabs, also have email inboxes with thousands of emails in them too. People with one or two tabs open, start to twitch if their inbox goes over 10 emails.

This one, occasionally 2 or 3 if I'm looking at something specific, same on the ipad. Close all apps on phone multiple times a day and ipad most nights. Email inbox has everything filed or deleted apart from less than 10 emails that need something doing with. Can't be doing with clutter on them!

Is there a way to tell how many on Android without counting. My phone gives a count up to 100 but will still open more.

Two tabs open, six figures of emails in my inbox. The inbox doesn't NEED to be kept clear, there's a search function.

None, browser is not running and only have 1 tab open at a time for what I'm looking at. Bookmarks are your friend.

Once I've finished with an app, it's shut down.

I’m with whoever said it’s like The Paperwork Pile of Doom! There is method to the madness.

Last night I sat down to clear some tabs out, got distracted and I went on a bit of a Google binge about this whole too many tabs thing... ended up with more open! 😂Turns out this is fairly widespread, and I did see somewhere that “digital hoarding“ is a thing, apparently.

Also, yes, my email inbox is more of an archive than an in-tray. Thank goodness for the search function!

Hmmmm, just looked at mine, 23,652 emails in it. God knows when I last did anything with that!!

Haha, I was just thinking I had too many open (17) when I clicked on this thread! Grin I'm a naturally messy person, but find it stresses me out after a while, so I try to keep tabs, emails, paperwork etc to a minimum now

I now can’t shake the idea of 500 tabs, what that would feel like... no, no, still sitting here trying to close some down...

I close each and everyone when I'm finished. I also close all notifications. I can't stand it. DH leaves all open and has notifications as far back as the phone will let him so every now and then I clear them as he ends up not knowing what's new or doesn't realise he has a new one! Drives me crackers.

Inam only orhanised in this part of life. The rest of my life is very disorganised!

I never delete them so I've got emails back from years ago, also thousands of unreads ones Blush

Blimey. I have 2. This one and the other one which I'm about to close down because I've dealt with it.

Hundred of emails I expect. I never delete because there are always current flight confirmations but once I've sorted the refunds for our cancelled trips I'll be deleting the lot.

I think I've got 2 tabs open on the desktop. I really need to delete all the epic Whatsapp and Messenger threads though.

Amazed at some of these numbers! I had 4 tabs in Safari and 28 apps. I close them regularly.

23 apps open and 6 tabs. I close mine down quite often though .
The tabs seem to be mumsnet, another forum, marvel movie list (for date order)
Harry Potter movie list order , a risotto recipe that I used last week and an Animal crossing tip page Blush

I go into settings every few days, in 'Device Maintenance' to clean it to 100%.

The thought of it being 'clogged up' makes my head hurt.

I have 35 open on Samsung internet which is all links I've clicked on from other places. I never actually use Samsung internet other than when links automatically open to it.

I use Chrome and have 1 open on that and only 1 tab on my phone. I automatically close all tabs without even thinking sometime s when I actually wanted to go back to something. It's an ingrained habit now 🤣
