I wouldn’t comment IRL and am not part of the Stasi post on FB with “reported to police” written in capitals which I am quietly finding quite amusing.

But a few people are posting are posting stuff on SM with “and before you judge me XYZ”

Friend who posted last weekend “having a bonfire this afternoon so just letting all my neighbours on here no so you can shut your windows” erm - you aren’t supposed to be having bonfires because of the risk of added pressure on the emergency services if something goes wrong, everyone is cooped up inside and it’s foul and some of those people might be shielding because of impaired lung capacity.

Photos of children on a bouncy castle in the back yard, “before you judge me there was no contact and the guy cleaned it all” yes but the point is it’s not exactly an essential fucking journey is it?!

And the people moaning about traffic on the roads - erm you were there too but your reason is “justified” because you are a key worker? “The park/beach was so crowded” so I came home - BUT YOU WERE THERE TOO!!!!

We hired a skip and cleared loads of stuff out.

MadameBee · 08/05/2020 15:36

Any non food or sanitary related waste isn't really a health hazard but if it were to be for whatever reason the council will still be responsible for that

Umm no the council are not responsible for it.

People not adhering to lockdown and social distancing are the people who are actually murdering those that don't have a choice but go out. And yes, I do call it murder because you know the consequences. It's not killing people accidentally, it's bloody murder

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Get a grip of yourself. I’ll look forward to seeing such people prosecuted for murder then. Oh wait no I won’t. Because it isn’t .

Noextremes2017 · 08/05/2020 15:42

These threads only prove one thing.

Half the population likes being told what to do / does not mind being held captive in their own homes / doing fuck all.

The other half don't feel the same way.

Neither side will win the argument.

Noextremes2017 · 08/05/2020 15:43

Murder? Have you lost it totally?

BreconBeBuggered · 08/05/2020 15:43

It's not OP's fault things are confusing. My local traffic police tweet examples every day of people they've stopped who were on what they've decreed a non-essential journey. They're fining people for regulation breaches of the type many people on this thread think the OP has dreamed up for her own frothing opportunity. I've read several examples of these in the last week alone.

crispysausagerolls · 08/05/2020 15:44

The bouncy castle guy was 'doing his job that he cannot do from home' which is well within lockdown rules. Alternatively the parents could have collected it on the way home from their food shop, halving a relative or friend, collecting medicines. The lockdown police are getting increasingly tiresome especially when half of it is perfectly fine with the government but they make up their own set of rules

This. OP you sound like an irritating idiot. You aren’t even addressing how wrong you are about this specific issue.

Alsohuman · 08/05/2020 15:46

They’re going to be losing an awful lot of appeals then.

BreconBeBuggered · 08/05/2020 15:50

Maybe so. But the fact remains, they're being issued with the spirit of COVID regulations in mind. Spirit being absolutely fucking useless as a legal framework.

NikeDeLaSwoosh · 08/05/2020 15:50

This.

I think the police have tried to piggyback on the (deserved) adulation of the NHS and its backfired very badly for them.

They will have quite the case to answer when all this is over.

crispysausagerolls · 08/05/2020 15:50

@alsohuman

Yes!

1984in2019 · 08/05/2020 15:51

Chokablok - there’s really no need to be so sweary in your response to me. It is no wonder this country has the highest number of Covid19 deaths on Europe (personally I have already lost two relatives, some ivory tower), when people get so angry at having to make sacrifices. The economy will rebound in many sectors, probably not any time soon in hospitality, and we and future generations will be taxed to the hilt to pay for the support needed now. I’m ok with that, looking after each other and preventing premature deaths seems worth it. You obviously have a different opinion which is your right, but at least try and form a coherent response without swearing.

It didn’t take long for this country to divide yet again, this is why the U.K. is pitied from outwith.

MadameBee · 08/05/2020 15:51

My traffic police (ours sorry 🤣) are doing the same about non essential journeys and they seem to get to choose which are and which aren’t.

We debated whether to have DH children or not and in the end I collected them but I was a bit worried about getting stopped and if it was really allowed (as 5 hour round trip).

I was on the roads this afternoon.....for my weekly trip to collect supermarket shopping.....I'm fairly sure all the cars on the road were not going out for essentials, it was practically as busy as normal and a noticeable number of cars full of families or more than one person (which I'm assuming is all most people would require to go out for essentials). Some of my neighbours are going out in the car two and three times a day, or are out longer than a supermarket shop would take so they're clearly at family or boyfriends etc.

Bobleywobley · 08/05/2020 15:53

That's why we have the highest death rates in Europe. Selfish Covidiots. And that's why this virus will stick around and keep killing lots of people.

MadameBee · 08/05/2020 15:54

In out for hours at a time though as I am working...?

...but you don't get to decide that for everyone else.

selfisolatingsince2007 · 08/05/2020 15:54

You guys don't appreciate the irony that you're all murderers and NHS haters just by being on this thread. By typing words you're using your hands unnecessarily and causing strain which may need treatment by the NHS later. Shame on you, shame on you, shame on you.

NikeDeLaSwoosh · 08/05/2020 15:55

It's becoming increasingly apparent that we have the highest death rates in Europe because we have the highest rats of obesity.

IvinghoeBeacon · 08/05/2020 15:55

emmathedilemma You sound weird, keeping tabs on time out of the house and making assumptions from it

IvinghoeBeacon · 08/05/2020 15:55

Bobleywobley haha excellent impression there!

NikeDeLaSwoosh · 08/05/2020 15:56

Why did you not just read the regulations that give you the answer to this question?

MadameBee · 08/05/2020 15:56

I don’t agree with the murderers remark.

You would have to knowingly transmit the virus to someone without their knowledge, a few people have been prosecuted for doing the with BBVs but I doubt that would be the case with this.

OP posts:
MadameBee · 08/05/2020 15:58

We did Hmm

We were worried as we had seen the police were stopping people and deciding what is essential and what is not - they clearly haven’t read the legislation.

Alsohuman · 08/05/2020 15:58

No it’s because we’ve got the most useless, incompetent government in Europe. Sweden hasn’t locked down at all.
