To feel like the only woman left who doesn't shave her pubes? 😂

During a group WhatsApp with friends last night, conversation (somehow!) turned to pubes. It would seem I am the only one who doesn't shave the whole lot off. I've done it a couple of times in the past but it itched when growing back and I actually feel sexier with a bit of a muff! Does anyone else not shave these days or am I a vile ogre?

@Callimanco

She always has I think. And she comes from a culture where it’s NOT the norm to remove pubic hair. My older brother was born when my mum was 17 and he remembers her never having any when they used to bath together.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 05/05/2020 20:17

Can I just ask a young 'un here - say 20s or 30s - would you say most of your age group shave the whole thing?
I think most used to leave landing strip. If my group (and i mean also where I grew up) were influenced by porn, we would have the most majestic beavers 😂 German porn on VHS was available.

Tbh I don't shave fully but I will forever defend the right of any women to do so. Equally, I would defend any woman attacked for having natural coverage. But the latter isn't attacked here and it isn't insinuated here that they are just a product of porn and their partners are pedos.

I have naturally very little thatch on my lady garden. I used to think It was a bit weird but it means I’ve never had borrow DH razor.

MarieQueenofScots · 05/05/2020 20:19

I would really love someone to answer this, if “decent men” shouldn’t have sex with women with no hair, because it’s “creepy” as the women appear “pre-pubescent”, are women with no hair supposed to not have sex?

Ginbunny1212 · 05/05/2020 20:20

I shave it all off as my landing strip seems to be wonky - can never get it straight. Although I purchased a lockdown bonus for laser hair removal as fed up shaving. Prefer nothing there. But going for Brazilian as I am not too sure when older how I feel with it all gone. Excited, hope my landing strip is straight Grin

Obviously you can have sex. But it may only be with not a decent man. Look at that face. Not decent

WaterOffADucksCrack · 05/05/2020 20:23

no hair down there looks too childlike to me it's so creepy how many people make comments like this. If you're looking at a grown woman's genitalia and thinking of children the problem lies with you, not with the woman deciding what to do with her own pubic hair. How could it possibly look prepubescent when she has the body of a woman? It isn't like when you have sex you cover up everything other than that part is it?

Coffeepot72 · 05/05/2020 20:25

Anyone managed to get a Waitrose home delivery this week (I think it’s polite that we change the subject)?

Chiyo666 · 05/05/2020 20:25

You mean other people husbands don’t cover them with a sterile drape and just cut a little circle where the vagina is??!! Confused

HaddawayAndShite · 05/05/2020 20:26

@minipie possibly. I just see reference to “Egyptians” as a whole. Gendered grooming references are in Greek histories though (referencing hair as being masculine and shaven / hair free feminine). The history of public hair is quite interesting to be honest but maybe I’m just a weirdo 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

It’s not hygienic to shave though. It’s actually a big infection risk.
I understand this is correct, however I do think it boils down to the person. If leave my pubic hair to get too long on the bikini line / leg joints (is that the right way to describe it?!) I get very sweaty (especially when exercising) and I’ve had yeast infections sometimes (I shower daily and I’m clean before anyone starts) it’s just my body and without hair I don’t get this issue.

I’m glad I’m fortunate enough to have the choice and free will to remove or not remove my pubes and non of my decisions are effected by porn stars are what the latest tat mags like cosmopolitan is telling me to do.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 05/05/2020 20:28

@WaterOffADucksCrack maybe they only do it in that latex suits masks things with crotch hole😂

LadyofTheManners · 05/05/2020 20:30

No I think it's weird to shave it all off. It's just a bit porn mag isn't it?
I used to do it as my fiancé at the time liked it, but DP is old skool and wouldn't like me shaving it all off. He has always said in his view grown women have hair down there.
It's tidy, I've not got a forest worthy of Bill Oddie down there, but that's how it is

HaddawayAndShite · 05/05/2020 20:31

A THATCH Grin I’m never going to be able to look at a thatched roof without giggling again

saltedtortillachips · 05/05/2020 20:38

I’m in my 20s and shave it all. I absolutely think Ive been influenced by it being a cultural norm within my age group but regardless, it’s my preference and I’ve had never had any pressure from a boyfriend to do so.

But the way to reduce the potential pressure on girls to shave is NOT to shame women that choose to do so by comparing them to prepubescent girls and implying their partners are paedophiles. How does that help anyone?

WaterOffADucksCrack · 05/05/2020 20:46

Chiyo666 That is a powerful image Grin

WaterOffADucksCrack · 05/05/2020 20:47

@OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow 😂

CorianderLord · 05/05/2020 20:48

Meh, I have friends who don't bother we're in our mid 20s. I started waxing at a salon in the summer but obvs can't because of lockdown. I haven't shaved - I waxed because I don't get painful ingrown hairs that way but do with shaving.

DP doesn't seem to mind

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 05/05/2020 20:53

I never got ingrown hair and now I feel bit like a freak of nature 😱

VerbenaGirl · 05/05/2020 20:56

You are not alone!

SerenDippitty · 05/05/2020 20:58

It’s not hygienic to shave though. It’s actually a big infection risk.

Pretty sure the groin abscess I developed a couple of years back was due to shaving. I leave it alone now.

Cosyblanky · 05/05/2020 21:01

Does anyone know if there's something to stimulate hair growth? I have sparse pubes and would love a full bush!

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 05/05/2020 21:06

@Cosyblanky if it comes to worst you can parade in front of the mirror proudly sporting this www.ebay.com/itm/173204211994

On a serious note. I don't think there is anything to spur hair growth.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 05/05/2020 21:07

@VerbenaGirl bless

Yellowsubmarinedreams · 05/05/2020 21:12

I'm in my 20s. Either all off, landing strip or neat short fuzz. I find having lots of pubic hair very itchy and I feel much cleaner. Also better for oral sex. Guys tend to trim neatly or shave off entirely. A full bush on a guy is rare IME.

GlomOfNit · 05/05/2020 21:31

Never done it, never will! My garden is wild and free with the odd jaguar hiding in there somewhere.

Sometimes, I catch sight of a woman's shaven labia on that bloody horrible Naked Attraction thing and can't help but think it all looks a hell of a lot better with the hair ON. Would not be interested in bedding someone who thought otherwise, frankly.
