To think Ollie Murs is a disgrace based on his TikTok?

I don't generally use TikTok, but this stupid thing has been shared right across my social media.

Basically, he made a video of himself cutting the bottom out of a Pringles can. Then took a video of himself and his girlfriend watching tv, eating Pringles from the can, placed on his crotch--so eventually she reached in to find her hand on his penis, which was poked through the bottom of the can.

So, as a joke, he got her to unexpectedly touch his penis. And made a video of himself doing it. On a platform largely used by young people.

Is it just me, or is getting someone to touch your genitalia without consent actually sexual assault?

It’s his girlfriend, don’t be a drama queen. However he is acting far too young for his age. Anyone over the age of 30 tic toking is a knob- unless kids are involved and it’s for the kids.

googlepoodle · 05/05/2020 08:34

I saw this and thought it was inappropriate. His pranks with his girlfriend are just not funny and a too try hard.

Figgygal · 05/05/2020 08:35

He’s coming across like a prat in these videos I agree with that much but the pearl clutching op has gone a bit far

NameChange84 · 05/05/2020 08:35

How old is he???

36 this month Hmm

Having now watched some of the videos (that’s 15 minutes of my life I’ll never get back again) I have much less sympathy for his girlfriend who also slaps him across the face and spits in his face. Other videos of him spraying her in the face with a super soaker, putting baby powder on a hairdryer and blowing it all in her face, farting in her face etc.

I grew up with a brother like this. He was and still is an arrogant, annoying wanker.

I’m very shrewd in my judgement towards men. Olly wouldn’t make the grade. I’m surprised any woman would put up with him to be honest!

OrangeCinnamon · 05/05/2020 08:36

She is definitely in on it, as said previous who doesn't grab the tin? There was another video where he surprised her with a flour bomb or something but before she turned the corner she already had flour on her shirt Hmm

Yup juvenile, creepy behaviour from Mr Murs.

RabidChinchilla · 05/05/2020 08:37

Sexual assault. 😂

I’m sure she’s touched it before. Not that consent is a once only thing, but it’s hardly like doing it to a stranger on the bus.

PearPickingPorky · 05/05/2020 08:37

Tricking girls into touching your penis, hahaha what larks. Hmm

SansaSnark · 05/05/2020 08:39

I haven't seen the video, but even if she was in on it, it's still setting a bad example to teenage boys who might watch this and think it is actually a hilarious thing to do. What if someone copies this and tries it on their unsuspecting girlfriend?

If it's done without consent, then it is sexual assault. I don't think simulating sexual assault for laughs is in good taste.

I hope his girlfriend doesn't feel under pressure to join in with these "pranks".

AJPTaylor · 05/05/2020 08:40

Sounds like he is going the way of Robbie Williams.

MaeDanvers · 05/05/2020 08:42

Wow, edgy. Hmm

Isn’t he supposed to be a family TV sort of niche as a celebrity?

RabidChinchilla · 05/05/2020 08:45

From hearing about her reciprocal pranks I’d say she probably enjoys it.

Dyrne · 05/05/2020 08:45

I do think it depends on the relationship. DP and I have the kind of relationship where we’d think nothing of a quick slap/pinch on the arse or boob grope (usually with “hilarious” honking noise) as we’re passing each other in the house. If we were working or it wasn’t appropriate or not in the mood, or if we are in public, we of course don’t do it. If one or the other of us aren’t in a playful mood we just say “please don’t do that” and the other immediately backs off. And it’s not all the time or it would get tedious. So it’s not always “unasked for sexual contact = sexual assault in ALL cases” as sometimes there’s already the conversation happened where there’s implied consent for stuff like that.

Having said that, I agree that 1) it’s probably staged; 2) Ollie comes across more as a twat in the videos; and 3) he has a responsibility to others who may take inspiration from his (probably consensual) video and do it to an unsuspecting and unconsenting person.

DarylDixonsHair · 05/05/2020 08:45

That joke is as old as time. Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg even have a song called Dick in a Box.

Hate Olly Murs though. In that recent collaboration he did with the Mcfly singers and James Arthur he was the weakest link but got the most screen time. No idea why he's so popular.

IncrediblySadToo · 05/05/2020 08:59

It's very 'teenage' not man in his mid 30's, but I don't find that kind of thing funny

However So, is it that makes this funny and not assault?

It's not assault FFS

Mammatino · 05/05/2020 08:59

It’s a shit joke whether it’s inappropriate or not, he’s an idiot. It’s purple nonsense and I can see why this has ruffled your feathers OP, I wouldn’t like to think my young daughter was having this kind of joke played on her.

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 05/05/2020 09:00

If Dp did it I'd probably laugh if I was in the right mood. Or, more likely, I'd make a quip that the tin was empty if I was feeling like a prankster myself. Whether it's an awful thing to do or not depends on the relationship.

That doesn't mean it's appropriate to film and put it on an app used by teenagers.

Mammatino · 05/05/2020 09:00

purile not bloody purple

Pinkarsedfly · 05/05/2020 09:02

Ew, Olly Murs has a penis Sad

Tbh I prefer to him having a smooth area in his pants, like an Action Man.

Pinkarsedfly · 05/05/2020 09:03

*to think of him. Sorry. The thought of Olly Mur’s cock rendered me temporarily illiterate.

Pinkarsedfly · 05/05/2020 09:03

FFS MURS’

Gallacia · 05/05/2020 09:04

I thought tik tok was a kids thing? If so, then yeah he's a disgrace.

I think a lot of celebrities have done some stupid things lately on social media

MagnoliaJustice · 05/05/2020 09:05

It's hardly sexual assault when his equally attention-seeking girlfriend was a willing participant.

I'm also pretty sure the majority of young girls are shrewd enough not to accept the offer of a Pringle from a strange man with the tube balanced on his crotch, should any of Olly's fans wish to emulate him, when lockdown is over.

Summersunandoranges · 05/05/2020 09:06

You have to take it in context though. Have you watched his other tictocs? They are both pranking each other. No need for calling the cops Grin

Ilovetea09 · 05/05/2020 09:07

I do agree he has been silly on tik tok. Lost of other people do worse but as he is in the public eye......
But I don't really see a problem with this as they are in a relationship? I haven't actually seen the video yet but did sue find it funny? Don't really see how it could be seen as sexual assault or whatever. If it was done to a friend tho that is different

Aridane · 05/05/2020 09:08

Ugh
