Why are so many threads being deleted if anyone dares says anything about China?

No rasist comments please . I think so many posters are trying to express their opinion about the changes going forward that need to be made by Chinese goverment or laws being inroduced on welfare and hygiene standards in China...or they may think The World Health Organization needs to adapt ....etc . Its really frustrating that if anyone dares say what they think , the thread is removed. Surely we should be able to have a open discusson. I ask again no rasist remarks of any kind. There have been so many deleted threads recently and they have had lots of posts, so its clearly something that should be talked about.

Because most of those threads start off with racist comments and the rest rapidly descend into racism.

suzilady · 04/05/2020 20:46

You think my title is racist FTMF30 ?

planetofthecats · 04/05/2020 20:48

It's weird isn't it. I regularly see the most brutal anti-Americanism here on Mumsnet with no action or removal of posts but apparently any criticism of the Chinese Government is racist and must be removed at all costs. It seems that not only do we import all goods from China but we are now importing their censorship rules.

NurseButtercup · 04/05/2020 20:48

Because it's race baiting.
Because the conversation isn't based upon facts.
Because sadly a lot of people are determined to turn the conversation into a race war/ them versus us.
I hope one day we do find out what happened.
I hope we learn the lessons so that during the next pandemic fewer lives are lost.

ArthurandtheAnemones · 04/05/2020 20:52

I was called racist on a thread that got deleted. My racist crime was to say that I was trying to support UK manufacturing by buying a pair trainers from the last remaining factory in the UK that makes them.

Trumpleton · 04/05/2020 20:55

I think FTMF30 was just correcting your spelling Wink

FTMF30 · 04/05/2020 20:55

No @suzilady. You spelled racist incorrectly, not once, but twice. It really bothered me and I couldn't ignore. Not dure why. I'm not usually so bothrred about these things.

Anyhow, like I said, I'm offering no value to your topic.

FTMF30 · 04/05/2020 20:56

I think it's fair to wonder what a large county might do to change their culture, when it happens to have borne something which created a Pandemic. But I'm sorry to say, your thread will probably be deleted and you will possibly be deemed as racist.

I don't have the answer. But sure as fuck, Trump isn't helping matters. We should be working together, not driving wedged between nations.

user1471565182 · 04/05/2020 20:59

they've gone back to letting the wet markets do whatever the piss they want.

FuckThisWind · 04/05/2020 21:00

Sorry for the typos by the way.

suzilady · 04/05/2020 21:02

Yes it probably will get deleted. I have asked for no RACIST remarks so hopefully it wont.

I've compared the information given from certain news sites against factual stories in more trustworthy sites - there is such bias in how the information is reported.

I think people need to be more critical of what they read and who is writing it. They need to look at whether events are being over reported or under reported and what information is being left out or exaggerated/based on fact or theory. Some stuff is pure speculation but read as fact.

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 04/05/2020 21:19

Trump is just attacking others to get the attention off his actions.

Samtsirch · 04/05/2020 21:20

Does getting laid stop people from noticing spelling mistakes ?
🤣

ShayAndBlueSeeker · 04/05/2020 21:21

“You need to get laid”?!? Okay. Mental note never to engage with you! What a crappy, bitchy comment.

Bluntness100 · 04/05/2020 21:22

Threads are removed because some posters report them op. I’ve seen many have a lengthy sensible discussion, others are just goady and stupid.

Mimishimi · 04/05/2020 21:24

I doubt it's China. It was probably planted in China to give us an excuse to sue them for trillions.

JulietTango · 04/05/2020 21:25

I think the hope is that it'll stop the pedantry

MissHoskins · 04/05/2020 21:26

@suzilady
You need to get laid FTMF30
FTMF30 explained that the comment was about your spelling. Your response here is childish and unpleasant.
If you want a thread to seriously discuss the role of China and it's officials in this pandemic I suggest you start by not insulting posters.

PleasantVille · 04/05/2020 21:27

I wondered why the thread about buying Chinese products was deleted, when I read it I didn't see anything racist, I didn't know we weren't allowed to discuss the Chinese.

You need to get laid FTMF30

Are you a 15 year old boy OP? What a stupid comment.

suzilady · 04/05/2020 21:27

Yes Bluntness100 . There have been some interesting threads with all sorts of opinions . Its a shame they have to become silly and be removed.
