To be really sad that Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman have separated.

Officially cabin fevered now but I have followed both of their careers and always felt slightly that Neil Gaiman held all the power since AP had their child 4 years ago. She posts often about how much she loves him, he never does this.
They were in lockdown in New Zealand together then suddenly he left to hid house in Scotland.
I feel really sorry for her stuck in a country with their child, heartbroken and unable to face to face sort it all out with her husband.

People don’t have to ‘take sides’.
It’s just sad and interesting and real.
With my last break up none of my friends sat round saying you’re good, he’s bad etc. It’s always complicated and nuanced, sometimes as simple as growing out of each other.

I think it's fair enough to take sides - flying halfway around the world during the quarantine and abandoning a child in the process was pretty poor IMO, very difficult to justify. It immediately puts Amanda in the right, whatever went on before.

I started reading the joint statement by Neil, but stopped after the second paragraph, because you know, none of this is, or ever was necessary or anyone else's business.

They could have just dealt with whatever problems they were and are having without posting it onto the twitterverse, just like every other struggling couple on the plantet, then they wouldn't have to deal with pile ons, hacked accounts or anything else.
