AIBU - Neighbour yelling “Ballsack”

DH and I have lived here for in excess of 10 years. It’s a nice area and we get along with most of our neighbours, or at least the ones in our road that we know.

There is one house two doors down that appears to be rented out as rooms. We don’t tend to see or hear much from them, just occasionally we see a new face going in and out the gate.

We have been at home all day today, as have DD1 and DD2 (as it is the weekend). Every half hour or so, I have heard angry shouting coming from somewhere - I assume from the house with rented rooms. DH has been out to try and work out what is happening, but cannot see anything. Unfortunately our house does not overlook their garden. He says that when he’s outside all he can hear is a male voice shouting what appears to be “ballsack”.

I am concerned for the persons wellbeing, as this is not normal behaviour. DH says to ignore it, I would prefer to call the police and have them look into it as it is not sensible nor appropriate behaviour. AIBU?

I absolutely think you should call the police and report that your neighbour has been yelling 'what sounds like ballsack' all afternoon. And then please report back to us what their response is.

grumpyorange · 03/05/2020 20:15

Maybe it's a tricky game of Jenga?

HoyaFlower · 03/05/2020 20:15

Does studying Balzac involve shouting “Balzac!” out the window?

Yes it's a joke one, @Inkpaperstars - no-one is such a tosser as the OP is making themselves out to be with their racist, classist etc overtones. But it's a joke we all well need right now, I think. I've been killing myself laughing at the responses.

Thanks for keeping it up for a bit @HebeMumsnet

HebeMumsnet · 03/05/2020 20:17

Actual LOL at Maybe it’s their safe word., ThrowbackMagic

NurseMumma · 03/05/2020 20:20

Maybe he's taking advantage of lockdown to enjoy a marathon S&M session with his partner and ballsack is his safe word.
I’m actually pissing myself 😂

TheHighestSardine · 03/05/2020 20:26

The word to shout was always PENIS when I was a sprat.

Definitely in Team Safeword though. That's got to be it.

TurquoiseDress · 03/05/2020 20:28

Reading the title quickly and seeing "Ballsack" just made me laugh out loud!Grin

vampirethriller · 03/05/2020 20:28

Maybe it's actually Bald Zach and he's trying to get the attention of a hard of hearing follicularly challenged friend whilst maintaining the recommended two metre distance.

Ajollygoodwrap · 03/05/2020 20:30

That's exactly what I was doing, thanks @iklboo. Been trying to figure out what @WhentheRabbitsWentWild meant as well Grin

Lightofthephoenix · 03/05/2020 20:30

Sorry to disappoint OP my 23 year old went to private school and is currently shouting CUNT over his headset. We also live in a detached house in a very leafy area.
I could asked him to change the word the word to ballsack

WorraLiberty · 03/05/2020 20:32

The OP has clearly never heard of the 1980s game 'Bollocks', which involved shouting 'BOLLOCKS' louder than your opponent, starting with a whisper and ending in being grounded.

We call that KNOB - COUGH.

You have to cough and shout the word 'knob' at the same time.

Me & DH are in our 50s and still play it now in restaurants and libraries, much to our DC's embarrassment.

iklboo · 03/05/2020 20:32

@WorraLiberty - ours is WANKER - COUGH Grin

WorraLiberty · 03/05/2020 20:32

Having said that, coughing in public really isn't the best idea so we won't be doing it until a vaccine as been found Blush

WorraLiberty · 03/05/2020 20:33

I am sheltering in place with 4 young adults ranging from age 17 to 23 and they are all shouting different x-rated, politically incorrect things at the screen in front of them and 1 went to military school, 1 went to catholic school, 1 went to jewish day school and one went to a progressive private school. And technically they are all renters since their normal place of abode is not in my fg house where there is an f*g dishwasher that doesn't disappear when you wake up at 2pm, but rather in the ridiculously expensive apartments that I am paying for in San Francisco where they are supposedly going to technical school.

SofiaAmes · 03/05/2020 20:37

Here in the USA it's called BULLSHIT and my DD taught my DM to play a few years ago....very carefully explaining that it was a very important part of the game to use the correct word....my DM is a rule follower so she followed the rules.
