AIBU - Neighbour yelling “Ballsack”

Charlbugh · 03/05/2020 18:04

DH and I have lived here for in excess of 10 years. It’s a nice area and we get along with most of our neighbours, or at least the ones in our road that we know.

There is one house two doors down that appears to be rented out as rooms. We don’t tend to see or hear much from them, just occasionally we see a new face going in and out the gate.

We have been at home all day today, as have DD1 and DD2 (as it is the weekend). Every half hour or so, I have heard angry shouting coming from somewhere - I assume from the house with rented rooms. DH has been out to try and work out what is happening, but cannot see anything. Unfortunately our house does not overlook their garden. He says that when he’s outside all he can hear is a male voice shouting what appears to be “ballsack”.

I am concerned for the persons wellbeing, as this is not normal behaviour. DH says to ignore it, I would prefer to call the police and have them look into it as it is not sensible nor appropriate behaviour. AIBU?

Awwww, I prefer it when it's a really clever troll. When they show their hand too quickly it takes the magic out of it!

Washyourhandsyoufilthyanimal · 04/05/2020 12:11

I know the best trolls are the ones that draw you in get you hooked on an update and the disappear at the last update! These ones are too obvious and are like children are doing them (which they probably are!)

Stellamboscha · 04/05/2020 12:49

Lol at Balzac!

iklboo · 04/05/2020 14:36

So it’s an Eastern European accent? This brings the Balzac theory back into play. How are they pronouncing it? It is Baylsak (with a very short sak) or boalzek?

They're pronouncing it 'Who is that trip trapping over my bridge' Grin

HarlanWillYouStopNamingNuts · 04/05/2020 14:44

Speaking of ballsacks, did you all see this on BBC Weather the other day ...

Pure genius 🤣

HarlanWillYouStopNamingNuts

Is it someones surname! Shock

HarlanWillYouStopNamingNuts · 04/05/2020 15:49

I hope not! I think it's someone having a laugh, but it's really funny that the BBC either had no idea what it meant or knew and put the caption up anyway.

BlackHillsofDakota · 04/05/2020 15:52

Maybe they are playing that game, like when dick and Dom used to shout BOGIES really loud

Floatyboat · 04/05/2020 15:56

Can't be bothered reading whole thread. What happened in the end?

Auridon4life · 04/05/2020 16:10

Ha hahaha hahaha

iklboo · 04/05/2020 16:38

@Floatyboat - OP played MN bingo, said the people were 'easy Europeans' (instead of East) then I think they got yanked. But the thread stayed up because of our comments have been cheering people up.

lovemelongtime · 04/05/2020 17:25

actually crying - best thread of the day

topazdiamondsandemeralds · 05/05/2020 00:50

Thedogscollar · 05/05/2020 01:28

Literally crying laughing at the replies. How do they think them upHmm

MayDayFightsBack · 05/05/2020 03:05

Does studying Balzac involve shouting “Balzac!” out the window?

Honestly, this made me laugh out loud.

Reginabambina · 05/05/2020 03:14

@MayDayFightsBack it’s the A-levels student equivalent of screaming in the Sistine chapel where after studying le Pere Goriot all term they finally got it. A literary orgasm if you will. When reading DH Lawrence on the other hand they should ‘tulips!’ bevause Lawrence is too wordy.

Dreeple · 05/05/2020 07:49

Does studying Balzac involve shouting “Balzac!” out the window?

Could be an aide-memoire.

Some people get really involved with their Balzac.

I hope someone can help.

I’m day 5 covid. Have had horrendously high fever 39-41 degrees. Since day three have felt well enough to eat a little and even cleaned the kitchen. My 23 month old daughter also had a high fever but is now around 37-38 so seems to be much better.

Called an ambulance out on Wednesday as I was delirious and it wasn’t going down with medicine.

They said sats were fine and said they weren’t concerned just try to keep fever down as it was high.

Day 5, I’m now worried again, woke up and was 40, don’t feel horrendous though, weak, head cold has started and very bunged up, aches have gone thank god.

I’m double vaxed. My mum and dad have had my eldest who are 9 and 10 since Monday so just me and my little one (getting concerned that something major is going on with this fever and I won’t be able to look after her :(
I have checked oxygen and pulse, all looks good.

Has anyone else experienced a long fever like this recently with covid? Vaccinated?

There's a topic called Coronavirus, you'd be better posting there. Hope you're better soon though x
AllyBama · 24/12/2021 08:09

@Worriedsinglemummy I’ve no idea how you managed to post on a thread May of last year about someone’s neighbour yelling ‘ballsack’ but you’re best to start your own new thread under the coronavirus topic.

Hope you get better soon

AnotherOneWithNoGoodName · 24/12/2021 08:24

@Worriedsinglemummy, this post is old, if you start your own topic you might get better responses. However if concerned about your health better to seek IRL medical advice- 111 should be able to. point you in the right direction.

rufflyshirt · 24/12/2021 08:55

I'm so glad multiple people have landed on the Balzac explanation.

Sorry OP but I would have a fit of the giggles. If the shouting carries on over multiple days, then maybe a call to 101 to register concern?

rufflyshirt · 24/12/2021 08:56

OH MY GOD I've been got by a zombie thread!! Nooo

Sorry people.
