Husband swearing and yelling at an Xbox game??

I thought only teenage boys did this??
So annoying?? He's almost middle aged, all I can hear is button mashing and
F#@k!!! F#@£&G F#&ER!!!
F@#K OFF!! You c#@t!!

Really?? I've said stop it, I'm sure the kids can hear you, but no no. It's a real life or death situation if you can't kill the dragon with your elderflower potions.

Pours wine

He shouldn't do it in front of the kids but swearing at games is normal Grin

LouiseTrees · 02/05/2020 19:09

Elderflower potions? What is he playing? I agree not good for the kids to have to hear but I really wanna know what game he’s playing now!

theemptywinebox · 02/05/2020 19:11

I don't actually know what potion it is I just made it up. He's playing the new final fantasy game. Re living his teenage dreams in HD and what not. I honestly find it sooooooo irritating.
I just glare at him and sip my wine.

I swear like that at all sorts of stupid things. I’m 55.
Not great if the kids can hear, depending on their age.

Geometricprince · 02/05/2020 19:12

Lol DH does this. He also tells me what is happening and expects me too be interested, I'm notGrin I just drinks my wine and reads my mumsnet.

theemptywinebox · 02/05/2020 19:13

I swear too but it's more like, sh#t! I dropped something, not full blown rage over a flipping game!

OP posts:
LouiseTrees · 02/05/2020 19:14

Final fantasy, not a bad game. I am not drinking but if my husband did this I would perhaps do a mocktail- an elderflower potion of my own so to speak.

Theeighthelephant · 02/05/2020 19:32

The FF7 remake? Is it good?

bigchris · 02/05/2020 19:35

And this is why dh is locked in another room Grin

MaeDanvers · 02/05/2020 19:36

Elderflower potions Grin Grin Grin

theemptywinebox · 02/05/2020 20:43

@Theeighthelephant much better. Although 20 odd years ago I never noticed Cloud looked like a 14 year old girl. I just can't stop seeing it, looks weird now.

I swore at Animal Crossing last night. I got stung, and thus knocked out, by a scorpion 😡

PurpleMonkeyDishwasher86 · 02/05/2020 21:01

In fairness, Dragon killing can be really frustrating. Grin It is relatively normal for gaming. Keep drinking the wine, I'm sure it'll be dead soon.

66redballons · 02/05/2020 21:05

Let him have some fun. Maybe curb the cursing for kids sake is a good idea, they do learn pretty quick and embarrass you at just the right time.

iklboo · 02/05/2020 21:05

I get 'RUN YOU BASTARD! FUCKING RUN YOU FUCKING DICKHEAD!! ARRRHH. Oh. I'm pressing the wrong button'. With the tongue out like a toddler, twitching and actually ducking when things are thrown at the character. I drink wine.

AlviesMam · 02/05/2020 21:07

My husbands doing this right now Angry Lol

amusedbush · 02/05/2020 21:14

DH frequently shouts ‘fucking cheating bastard!’ at Fifa. He doesn’t even have a headset so his opponent can’t hear him Grin

We don’t have kids to overhear his outbursts, and I don’t care. I swear at games too!

theemptywinebox · 02/05/2020 21:16

Hahaha! Glad I'm not the only one. @NotACleverName 😂🤣 Animal crossing lol!!

PapayaCoconut · 02/05/2020 21:18

That's horrible. Due to my upbringing, any kind of aggressive behaviour makes me really anxious and uncomfortable. I wouldn't be able to listen to that. I seem to be in the minority though.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 02/05/2020 21:40

My husband is nearly 49, he effs and blinds at pre evo football, god forbid anyone who walks in on him playing, your in for a mouthful and a full on strop if you distract him. Even the kids know to stay away, it's pathetic

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 02/05/2020 21:42

Pro evo 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mistressofpemberly · 02/05/2020 21:54

How grim. I can’t understand why grown men do this. If my kids did it I’d flip off the wifi. But husbands??!!

NaviSprite · 02/05/2020 22:13

Wow I’m playing FF7 the remake and I haven’t resorted to swearing yet! But then I play it at night downstairs when my DC are asleep. He’s got no excuses in my opinion for not being able to control his emotions enough to not be an irritating bellend.

Perhaps suggest he tries it on the easy setting? Smile

Also @Theeighthelephant it’s bloody glorious Grin

OnlyLittleMissOrganised · 02/05/2020 22:17

My husband used to do this when playing a online game. When I was pregnant I went mental at him because
A) it scared the bejesus out of me thinking I'd done something wrong or he had hurt himself. The whole shooting thing always put me on edge and there was no need for it.

B) I didnt want him to wake the baby up when he had the time to play once the baby was born.

He soon stopped when I compared it to me swearing and shouting at my favourite tv show when characters didnt do what I wanted. Good luck!

dawnc27 · 02/05/2020 22:18

totally normal. i got banned from playing burn out..... not by xbox but the husband as i was apparently very foul mouthed and a bit rough on the controllers...
