For me, it's 'and rightly so'. It sounds so bloody sanctimonious and grammatically it just feels wrong! 😡

OP posts:
DecadentDeity · 01/05/2020 16:59

Calling people entitled - no says this in real life! But it gets trotted out here in every thread.

Roomba · 01/05/2020 17:01

'You made me spit tea all over my keyboard' LolaSmiles (not really, I detest that phrase!). I was just thinking its the posters who get one or two replies then start ranting 'I knew I should have posted on MN, you're all evil feminazi bullies!!1! I'm going to have MN delete this now, why are you all such bitches??!' When the responses they got were perfectly polite and helpful, they just didn't say 'Ur house Ur rulez babes!'

Wolfgirrl · 01/05/2020 17:02

People who describe their kids ages in months past the age of 1.

When it gets into 30-something months it is plain ridiculous.

TheCanterburyWhales · 01/05/2020 17:07

Oh god yes, the "lawyer/teacher/GP here" thing. When half the posters on the thread have already said, "well, I'm a lawyer too, and..."
It's the "here" thing which functions to shut down anybody else. Hideous.

NotACleverName · 01/05/2020 17:07

If letters that aren't words can count as catchphrases. From today, for example: AFAB, and on this thread, AAVE.

It's an acronym, @Abitofalark. I hope this helps!

paperandfireworks · 01/05/2020 17:09

"I have many degrees from a top university" which therefore implies the posters opinion is superior.

bellsbuss · 01/05/2020 17:10

Get your ducks in a row, it sets my teeth on edge and I've never heard anyone in rl say it.

Itoldyouiwasill · 01/05/2020 17:10

Rip him a new one
I have never ever heard it in real life and honestly didn't know what it meant when I saw it here the first few times.
So now I know. Bloody vile

The80sweregreat · 01/05/2020 17:12

My supervisor uses ' rip him a new one' !
I loath it. It's a saying that conjures up horrible images in my mind!

Praiseyou · 01/05/2020 17:13

"Ok. I'll bite".

As if the poster is the only person brave enough to respond. Usually posted on the third page of the thread when lots of other people have already given their opinion.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/05/2020 17:22

Any poster, who appears on an infertile/struggling woman's thread to patronisingly ask her if she :

"Has ever thought about adoption?"

As if adoption is this secret thing only the few have heard of and she is bestowing a marvellous gift, SHOULD (in the absence of being fired directly into the sun) receive a temporary posting ban from MNHQ on the grounds of being a tone deaf, insensitive, tedious cunt.

Wishimaywishimight · 01/05/2020 17:24

"I mean this gently..." Just say what you want to say - leading into it with the word 'gently' doesn't make a knob of difference!

tobee · 01/05/2020 17:26

Used loads at the moment

"Ffs"

As a supposed gotcha moment for an op not following lockdown rules the poster deems to be correct.

Ratoncita · 01/05/2020 17:26

ODFOD 😡

And when people add this to posts:
Message deleted by MNHQ. Here's a link to our Talk Guidelines. I assume it's next level troll hunting, but who knows? 🤷‍♀️

BeMoreZenLike · 01/05/2020 17:26

Eleventy billion.
Fuck OFFFFFF!!!!

Ratoncita · 01/05/2020 17:27

Obviously, when not posted by MNHQ 🤦‍♀️

TinRoofRusty · 01/05/2020 17:28

"Has ever thought about adoption?"

'Or, even worse, there are so many children in the UK in need of loving, stable homes'. Great, there's nothing stopping fertile people from adopting, either, it's not the sole preserve of those who cannot have children and children are not consolation prize.

VideographybyLouBloom · 01/05/2020 17:28

‘Are you me OP?’
It’s just nonsensical and stupid

DavetheCat2001 · 01/05/2020 17:30

'A huge salad' ... don't know why this chaps my arse so much.

TinRoofRusty · 01/05/2020 17:30

Yes, telling people to fuck off is against Talk Guidelines. So if passive aggressive, 'You sound like a cunt/twat'. No one falls for that, it gets deleted.

Wishimaywishimight · 01/05/2020 17:31

Those long (long!) threads that start off with "I have 4 friends, let's call them A, B, C and D. I've know A for 4 years, B for 5 months etc... A and B are also friends but C and D don't know either... followed by an endless convoluted story of fallings out, who said what about who, whose kids play together etc. God almighty I just can't be arsed...

StealthPolarBear · 01/05/2020 17:31

Probably already been mentioned, but comments like
"go away and have a little think about why that might be"

StealthPolarBear · 01/05/2020 17:34

DavetheCat2001 yes a "huge salad", always accompanied by a piece of meat the size of your fist and two small potatoes.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 01/05/2020 17:37

Probably already mentioned but "makes my teeth itch"

LolaSmiles · 01/05/2020 17:41

"I have many degrees from a top university" which therefore implies the posters opinion is superior
Ooh yes, and its sibling comment: "my husband has an important and demanding job" / any other similar reference that suggests the occupation of a poster's husband is important when it really doesn't.
