People sharing fake post from Jennifer Saunders

A wee rant here. Has anyone else seen that fake Facebook post "written by Jennifer Saunders" doing the rounds on Facebook? It's a crock of shite about how anyone blaming the government for the NHS lack of PPE / ventilators is stupid and anyone who says as much is a "crayon eater" just "trying to pull Boris down". The post absolutely rips the NHS apart and describe it as "piss poor", whilst blaming local councils and private care homes for PPE issues in care settings. It claims the government is in no way responsible for any of the current difficulties.

I'm so fecking angry about it! It's been shared by seemingly intelligent people, at least in my town! It's not written by JS- she has denied all knowledge, and more importantly it's wrong!!

A) the government CUTS to the NHS have affected procurement
B) the procurement of PPE is led by the NHS Supply Chain run by Matt Hancock!

Lots of people on Facebook have shared and liked this fake post believing it to be authentic, including school Mums from DC school I thought were reasonably sensible, and the same people are standing on their doorsteps clapping the NHS and posting rainbows each week. How dare they!!

And now its morphed into posts saying the NHS is solely responsible for the UK COVID-19 stats being some of the worst in the world!

Lets get this in perspective the CRAYON EATERS who are set on pulling Boris down.

Firstly THE GOVERMENT DOES NOT ORDER EQUIPMENT for the NHS, they supply the money. The lazy arse MANAGERS of the NHS are the procurment sources.

It's not the goverment that deals with the logistics for the NHS, it's yes you've guessed it the NHS, more PISS POOR NHS management (goverment sorted that by giving them the Army).

Two years ago there was a major exercise about the country being prepared for a possible pandemic, the government did NOT run that exercise, the NHS did, which they used their fantastic line "we can flex" so they were supposedly in a good place, add to that now Brexit with all the stockpiles that we had, they sat there and told the goverment we are ok. Did the NHS MANAGERS then pre empt the 4 weeks pipeline ordering (thats how long it takes container ship to come from......CHINA)....

oh how did we end up in that situation, well you stopped ordering from local sources, mistake all the eggs in one basket, who did that, not the goverment the NHS procurement.

With the care homes now screaming out for PPE shoutin at the goverment, oh wait the majority of care home are PRIVATE business's, 84% to be exact. It is not the responsibility of the goverment to order PPE for the private care homes, the others are COUNCIL led therefore which ever banner they are under it is down to them. There are all these people hiding behind the goverment when in reality it is those NHS MANAGERS who have messed up. Not to worry though all our stirling journalists and crayon munching joe public who believe the tripe they publish, to bash the goverment, one because they didn't vote for Brexit and two because the toxic crayons have got to them.

The real joe public know our media are shite in almost every quarter and the muppets that chuck the stones from the sidelines, you know the ones that are armchair virologist/stratergy professionals who could do oh so much better....NOT.

The goverment has made mistakes, but not as many as the media would have you believe, instead of trying to pull this country together it seeks to divide, we don't need this at this crucial time, stop reading the gutter press, the armchair freaks STFU we need to get through this and your insessant squeaking is nothing but oxygen waste.

Lets get through this and beat this, as it is not over yet, not by a long chalk.

I saw this this morning but posted by someone pointing out what a crock of shite it is.

I have a fair idea of where it has come from to deflect blame from the government for their mishandling of their response to the pandemic.

FB is full of people sharing utter shite atm without even bothering to check its provenance. They just hit share and move on, even when it's total bollocks. Someone was sharing a picture of a dog vaccine(!) for a strain of Coronavirus from 2011 on my timeline and suggesting there was some cover-up and we actually have a vaccine. Bonkers.

Well now you've shared it outside FB, which is forum lots of people don't bother with because it's a forum for the terminally stupid.

I presume you can report stuff like this to FB to have it removed, remove your friends or remove yourself from the site. Why bring it here?

My half brother shared something like that this morning. Something about picking on the Tories is bad and mean and we all wanted Brexit and Immigration stopped and support the soldiers or something. My half sister and his daughter 'liked' it.

I read it, thinking

'You both grew up in a council house entirely funded by benefits which were undoubtedly a lifestyle choice as she didn't want to lower herself to work after getting knocked up aged 17. She then had further children, one with somebody else's husband.

You both got housed due to 'unplanned' teenage pregnancies, claimed benefits and then used the various schemes to buy homes at massive discounts. One of you also worked cash in hand at the same time.

Oh, and your partners/spouses. They're all first or second generation immigrants. None of them or their parents would have got through these new rules you're so keen on.

And two of you - well, your spouses won't get ventilator space. Neither will one of you - and one of the other adult children doesn't have a hope either.
