People sharing fake post from Jennifer Saunders

A wee rant here. Has anyone else seen that fake Facebook post "written by Jennifer Saunders" doing the rounds on Facebook? It's a crock of shite about how anyone blaming the government for the NHS lack of PPE / ventilators is stupid and anyone who says as much is a "crayon eater" just "trying to pull Boris down". The post absolutely rips the NHS apart and describe it as "piss poor", whilst blaming local councils and private care homes for PPE issues in care settings. It claims the government is in no way responsible for any of the current difficulties.

I'm so fecking angry about it! It's been shared by seemingly intelligent people, at least in my town! It's not written by JS- she has denied all knowledge, and more importantly it's wrong!!

A) the government CUTS to the NHS have affected procurement
B) the procurement of PPE is led by the NHS Supply Chain run by Matt Hancock!

Lots of people on Facebook have shared and liked this fake post believing it to be authentic, including school Mums from DC school I thought were reasonably sensible, and the same people are standing on their doorsteps clapping the NHS and posting rainbows each week. How dare they!!

Not that councils are always ideal places, but who sets the laws and governance and conditions under which they operate? No council has free agency in the UK.

I saw this but didn't think it was THE Jennifer Saunders, I assumed it was a nutter who went by the same name 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sink I have brushed up against it once or twice. Some schools, health agencies and councils are better than others, some link up better than others, some council staff are better than others, some may lose paperwork 3 times, send it to wrong departments, wilfully misinterpret it, bury it in peat and recycle it as firelighters, but the bottom line at the moment is lack of finances. Budgets are highly restricted, and central government controls those.

Weird they chose Jennifer Saunders. And must be upsetting to have your name tied to such crap.

There's also some godawful Dawn French page that keeps getting shared to my timeline. It's mostly just really unfunny wine mum type crap and click baity 'she found a dog and you won't believe what happened next!' type junk. Who are these people going around impersonating 90s comedians?

Wasn't Dawn French the subject of some bullshit weight loss treatment ad where they claimed she'd used their product and praised it?

I don’t do Facebook because I always think it’s not for the “thinking person”. Not now, at least.

I was at school with Jennifer Saunders. She is a few years older than I am. She is well educated so just from that viewpoint, she absolutely didn’t write that piece. She was a however a very unpleasant person and a huge bully. The scared ten yr old in me will not allow myself to watch her on television as I am swept back to boarding school, in Hertfordshire and a time when I did as much as I possibly could to avoid her.

Jennifer Saunders is not exactly an uncommon name.

Unless it is attached to a photo or similar of the Jennifer Saunders, surely this is just a rant by some other woman sharing her name?

What's a crayon eater?

It was shared on a Jennifer Saunders fan page (apparently) by someone with her profile name and photo. She's denied it on her verified Twitter though.

Dawn French also confirmed it wasn't her.
