Bacon sandwich dilemma (lighthearted - sort of)

DH made me a bacon roll this morning - lovely dry cured bacon, ketchup, tiger bread roll and brought them up to bed for me, but upon finding me in the shower left breakfast on the toilet (!!?!) for me. Apparently this is hygienic as the lid is down. AIBU to not eat it Confused?

Really? I'd eat it

formerbabe · 26/04/2020 09:24

That's disgusting

FizzyPink · 26/04/2020 09:24

It was on a plate right? I’d eat it

Oysterbabe · 26/04/2020 09:25

I'd eat it. Do you think the germs are going to crawl across the lid, up and onto the plate?

BuffaloCauliflower · 26/04/2020 09:25

It’s fine. There’s more microbes on your kitchen counter than the toilet seat, and you wouldn’t worry about the plate being there.

littlemeitslyn · 26/04/2020 09:25

Grow up

GreyishDays · 26/04/2020 09:26

Also fine if it’s on a plate. Germs won’t crawl up the plate.

KipperTheFrog · 26/04/2020 09:26

I’d eat it

snowpony · 26/04/2020 09:26

Just to add he was sat on that toilet before going down to make breakfast.

If it’s on a plate and your toilet lid is reasonably clean, I can’t see a problem with it!

lynzpynz · 26/04/2020 09:26

Id thank him for making it but def ask him not to leave food in the bathroom again! If the toilet had been flushed whilst it was next to it and droplets in the air from it for example I def wouldn't but if it was down and just steam from your shower then I'd probably eat it personally.

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 26/04/2020 09:27

He put ketchup on a bacon roll??? LTB

FountainGate · 26/04/2020 09:27

My desire for a bacon sandwich right now (I live in Saudi Arabia) would negate ANY hygiene issues, especially as the lid was down. I'd eat it.

Rebelwithallthecause · 26/04/2020 09:28

If you wouldn’t eat it then I’d say you aren’t cleaning your bathroom enough

ShinyMe · 26/04/2020 09:29

Bit odd, but the back of the toilet seat is no less hygienic than the side of the bath, or whatever other surface you were planning to rest it on. If you'd have happily eaten it in the bathroom anyway then carry on. The germs only spread while you're actually flushing the loo and just after, the only thing picking up germs will be the bottom of the plate.

Goforit20 · 26/04/2020 09:30

Why wouldn’t you eat it?

circusintown · 26/04/2020 09:32

Weird. Don't know why he'd even bring it into the bathroom. What about the steam? Did it go all soggy?

I'd eat it, but I don't know why he couldn't just put it in the bedroom.

Lordfrontpaw · 26/04/2020 09:33

I assume it was on a plate. But the ketchup is unforgivable.

formerbabe · 26/04/2020 09:33

Food in the bathroom is horrible

Lordfrontpaw · 26/04/2020 09:34

I was once at my gym (in the basement of a hotel) and a family appeared and got into the jacuzzi...with sandwiches.😳

vanillandhoney · 26/04/2020 09:36

Your phone is probably dirtier than your toilet seat.

ECBC · 26/04/2020 09:38

Weird place to leave breakfast for you (???) but excellent breakfast nonetheless

forsucksfake · 26/04/2020 09:39

I would eat it because my toilet is cleaned every day. But I do think it is really odd of your husband to think that leaving food on the toilet is in any way acceptable. Were you expected to eat it while having your shower? While drying your hair? What a weirdo.

Lindy2 · 26/04/2020 09:42

I'm assuming the toilet lid was closed and the bacon on a plate.

Surely your toilet lid should be just as clean as your sink etc, unless you wee on it.

The plate would also be clean - I would hope.

I'd eat it and be very happy that someone had made a nice breakfast and brought it to me.

TheGirlWithAPrince · 26/04/2020 09:47

Nah got to have ketchup on a bacon roll. Definitely got to have Ketchup.
