Bacon sandwich dilemma (lighthearted - sort of)

DH made me a bacon roll this morning - lovely dry cured bacon, ketchup, tiger bread roll and brought them up to bed for me, but upon finding me in the shower left breakfast on the toilet (!!?!) for me. Apparently this is hygienic as the lid is down. AIBU to not eat it Confused?

Gross. I wouldn't have eaten it. Wtf was he thinking?

Oakmaiden · 26/04/2020 10:55

But a teacake has currants in it. That would be very, very wrong with bacon.

ponders

snappycamper · 26/04/2020 10:55

It's gross, but it's a bacon sandwich. I'd still have eaten it.

Ninkanink · 26/04/2020 11:00

I don’t even like currants and I still know that the likelihood of teacake and bacon being a delicious combination is very high indeed.

On the OP, I’d be pretty miffed at his having it left in the bathroom when the bedroom was a few steps away, tbh. There’s just no need. But I’d still eat it.

Boireannachlaidir · 26/04/2020 11:03

I think eating in the bedroom is just as gross as him leaving it in the bathroom for you...

Ninkanink · 26/04/2020 11:05

Yes tbf I wouldn’t eat in the bedroom either - but I’d definitely choose that as a more sensible and palatable place to leave my breakfast!

teqcar · 26/04/2020 11:07

It wouldn't fuss me to eat w bacon roll that had been on a plate on the toilet seat but the lack of communication would drive me insane. Do you not take to each other?

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 26/04/2020 11:08

Unless he sat it IN the toilet, I don't see a problem. Strange place to leave it, but not unhygienic if it's on a plate it will be fine.

YinMnBlue · 26/04/2020 11:13

Why is eating in the bedroom a problem?

I can’t be doing with the irrationally fastidious.

Ninkanink · 26/04/2020 11:18

It’s not a problem to eat in the bedroom if you have a chair and table in there. I don’t, so I’d have to eat in or on my bed and I cannot stand crumbs in my bed. It’s uncomfortable and feels manky.

I like my bed to be a sanctuary of self-care or a place for good fun, but I much prefer it to stay food-free.

FrangipaniBlue · 26/04/2020 11:25

I'd me more pissed that the roll would go soggy from the steam than anything else Hmm

CorianderLord · 26/04/2020 11:37

It's just a loo lid... the ablutions don't tend to reach there and it's on a plate. I assume you clean your toilet.

There's actually more bacteria in the average kitchen sink than the loo.

Just eat your scran

RomaineCalm · 26/04/2020 11:53

@snowpony Bacon and hot cross buns??? I think I'm going to have to go for a lie down! Smile

FinallyHere · 26/04/2020 12:02
