@Allywill
I thought the voucher/credit notes were covered by ABTA so you would be ok if the provider went bust?

Unfortunately no, if you book a flight direct with the airline like Ryanair ATOL doesn’t kick in.

ATOL (and ABTA) are package holiday related only.

So ATOL protect some package holidays that include flights.

ABTA protect some package holidays that include cruise-rail-self drive.

If you have a package holiday your paperwork will confirm if you’re either ATOL or ABTA covered.

If you booked direct with an airline as above claim with your card provider for a much quicker and less stressful service.

Flight cancelled in March. Just got an email to say my refund has been processed. Bit of a coincidence I happened to request an update on Twitter just an hour before but regardless, just happy my money is being returned.

My Ryanair refund finally came through today after requesting it on Facebook Messenger at the end of April so looks like processing time is nearly two months.
