Weirdly the story has now disappeared from the BBC since I saw it this morning, but basically. Donald Trump is suggesting UV treatment and injecting disinfectant as a means to kill COVID.

Obviously most know he’s a lunatic, but enough support him to keep him in power, and people will take this advice seriously and will surely inevitably die as a result.

Thing is, there seems no way to stop him. if he gets back into power, which he undoubtedly will, then they have another four years of this, in which case the stability of the country is in serious danger.

But if he doesn’t get in I predict serious unrest and even wonder whether the states could end up in civil war.

Either way it’s not a place I would want to be going right now.

It’s obviously easy to laugh at trump from the sidelines, but people are having to live under this....

Maybe Trump doesn't have a permatan, his orange glow is from Dettol running through his veins.

It wasn’t multiple people it was one couple but it was as a direct result of Trump inflating the success of hydroxychloroquine. Most politicians would of took the PR lesson from that.

I’m leaning towards him having dementia. I saw a comment describing listening to him talk was like listening autocorrect write a speech. This makes me wonder exactly who is pulling the actual strings in the White House at the moment because I really think he isn’t competent.

NiteFlights · 24/04/2020 09:34

Joe Biden ... is no better.

Enough people thinking this will endure another term for Trump. Is Biden perfect? No. Does he have serious flaws? Yes. Is he better than DT in every conceivable way? Yes x 10000000000000000000000000000

Trump is a psychopath and a moron, and is very possibly suffering from dementia as well, his entire worldview is transactional and as pp said, he has no way of dealing with this crisis, he is literally incapable of it.

NiteFlights · 24/04/2020 09:34

*ensure. Though the whole world will have to endure it as well

ChainsawBear · 24/04/2020 09:34

Even the BBC seem to be losing the ability not to write every "straight" news article about him with a tone of incredulity.

I think at some level in that empty orange head he knows he's hopelessly out of his depth, hence the rather pathetic repeated public complimenting of his own brainpower.

Iwantacookie · 24/04/2020 09:36

I heard something the other day when he was saying one thing but his advisers were saying the opposite. How can that happen?
It must be very scary over there atm.

Rottnest · 24/04/2020 09:37

@AlternativePerspective, yes you are right Trump is a ruthless sociopath. The whole situation would be funny if it weren't so serious.

Thank god I do not live in America.

chomalungma · 24/04/2020 09:38

You have to wonder what some people high up in the Republican party think.

The reaction by Dr Birx as he was saying it is priceless

At present we are fighting a deadly pandemic and also stupidity. I fear stupidity is going to cause this pandemic to last much longer and kill More people than it needs to !

Every time he opens his mouth , fear rushes through my body!

ElaineMarieBenes · 24/04/2020 09:38

Lots of discussion on CNN regarding this latest madness from Trump!

Babdoc · 24/04/2020 09:39

Trump is 73, Biden 77. Why does the US choose potential leaders who are well past retirement, not in prime health, and at risk of dementia? Surely out of 320 million people they could find better candidates than these? Trump is an international embarrassment with his idiotic ravings.

Spidey66 · 24/04/2020 09:39

How the hell did he get elected?

TooTrueToBeGood · 24/04/2020 09:39

His lack of cognitive capacity is frightening given the power he has. In this case it was blatantly obvious the experts were discussing the effectiveness of UV and disinfectant for killing the virus in the environment. That he managed to either not grasp the context and/or jump to the nonsensical possibility of using those options to kill the virus in patients is truly frightening. Whether the man is stupid, uneducated or suffering from some degenerative mental illness is irrelevant - he is not fit to be president. That's before you even consider that he is a narcissistic, misogynistic, obnoxious bully who doesn't have an ounce of charisma or statesmanship.

TreeTopTim · 24/04/2020 09:40

I have no words. If I was an American I would be thankful that he can only be President for 8 years. Hopefully it's only 4 years because it's been 4 years too many.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/04/2020 09:40

As Trump said, he is not a doctor!

But his uncle was a scientist and so that makes him a scientist too.

(Dr John Trump, the white sheep of the family.)

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 24/04/2020 09:42

The scariest thing about Trump is that he makes us feel relieved we have Boris. He actually makes Boris look good!

Disclaimer: Boris is still crap

bellinisurge · 24/04/2020 09:44

They are keeping him in power to overturn Roe vs Wade by stacking the Supreme Court with anti abortion judges. They just need him in post long enough for Ruth Baden Ginsburg to die and he gets to nominate her replacement. And then when Trump fucks off they will still have a majority in the Supreme Court and there's nothing anyone can do about it. He's the vessel by which they achieve this regardless of what a twat he is.
Amusingly there so called pro-life stance is being tested by the outrageous way they are putting people's lives at risk.

bellinisurge · 24/04/2020 09:45

Their not there 😂😂😂🤪

ifonly4 · 24/04/2020 09:46

Perhaps, he'd like to volunteer for testingGrin

bellinisurge · 24/04/2020 09:46

Bader not Baden. I am on fire this morning!

dreamingbohemian · 24/04/2020 09:47

Joe Biden is neither a sociopath nor a moron.

He's not going to lock migrant children in cages and leave them to die. Or foment racist militias to violence. Or wonder if people should inject Lysol.

Yes, he is old and not as sharp as he was. He will pick a younger VP who will run things a lot.

If Trump is reelected then I do think the United States will cease to be a united country in the not too distant future. The polarization is just getting too extreme.

BoingBoingyBoing · 24/04/2020 09:51

"Joe Biden ... is no better."

Has Biden suggested injecting bleach or shoving a torch up your arse to deal with COVID? No, he hasn't, so that makes him better.

Frankly, my elderly cat who still get's confused by his reflection in a mirror is better than Trump. He's a fucking moron.

dreamingbohemian · 24/04/2020 09:51

Sorry, that was in response to the idea that Biden is just as bad as Trump, which unfortunately is being promoted a lot at the moment, mostly by disgruntled Bernie bros.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 24/04/2020 09:52

Biden is, in this case, the pig's bladder on a stick in a blue rosette.

papiermaches · 24/04/2020 09:54

'To be fair, he wasn’t telling people to do this, just asking the question of the expert, who quickly rebutted it.

He's supposed to be President not some drunk in a bar making random comments.'

THIS! As the president a lot of people DO listen to him, and a lot of his supporters think he's straight-talking, sensible and knows stuff that the experts don't or are 'hiding' because of conspiracy theories.
He's dangerous.
