Just that. It has become a habit since lockdown. A bottle of wine over the course of the evening 4-5 nights per week.
AIBU to think it's too much?

@JRUIN there is a HUGE difference between two small glasses and two bottles? Don’t you think?

Agreed, but there is an even huger difference between 2 bottles of wine and 1 bottle, which is the amount the OP says she has.

No. I drink a bottle every night. I have a very high tolerance and never get drunk. I'd have to drink all night to get drunk. So I don't think it's a problem

What wine are you drinking that doesnt give you a hangover after a bottle? Asking for a friend...

lazylinguist · 04/05/2020 19:25

I don't understand why it matters that it's 'easily done'. It's also pretty easily not done unless you are already dependent.

I very rarely drink over the NHS weekly limit, but I can still drink a bottle of wine without a hangover. I don't do it often though.

@itchyfinger - prosecco - apparently

anotherbrewplease · 27/03/2022 07:00

I have half a bottle on a Saturday - but yes - during the last 2 years, habits had increased to a midweek bottle shared with DH.

Back to once a week again - but even that is probably not great...

Rinatinabina · 27/03/2022 07:24

I think when you feel under pressure a lot the relaxing effects of alcohol and mellowing out can become a total crutch, I didn’t drink for ages after having DD and when I had my first drink it felt like bliss, I hadn’t realised how utterly wound up I felt most of the time.

Completely understand how you got there OP, life is often not easy and you have your hands full. Cutting back a bit is probably a good idea. You definitely won’t be alone.

This thread is nearly 2 years old, would be nice to get an update on whether the OP managed cut back on the wine or not.
