To ask if anybody is hearing of the huge news coming out of North Korea?

Kim Jong Un has apparently been taken severely ill after complications from a heart surgery. An American journalist tweeted that US officials have heard he is brain dead but she soon retracted the tweet saying she needs to wait for more info.

Would not like to be his surgeon!

NK has a habit of abducting people from the beaches of Japan (and China and South Korea?).

I read about it in a brilliant but incredibly sad novel called The Orphan Master's Son (based on reality of life there).

Including kidnapping a South Korean actress and then her ex-husband director because Kim Jong Il was obsessed with movies and wanted them to help him make the north korean film industry less crap. There's a great book about it called A Kim Jong Il Production. Lots of the people they kidnapped were used to teach north korean spies how to infiltrate the south. One of the kidnap victims was a teenage girl. It's hard to imagine one day walking home from school and the next ending up in north korea.

Honk Kong STV are saying he is dead. Most are just saying he hasn't been seen for 2 weeks.

If he has died - or is in a vegative state, which I've also seen mentioned - I'd expect the battle for the top job to be going on behind the scenes before they announce it. I doubt it's going to be anyone better though, which is scary!
