You can substitute bananas or stewed apples?

Softpebbles · 20/04/2020 20:57

Just google vegan cake recipes. 😊

mynameiscalypso · 20/04/2020 20:57

Shortbread springs to mind immediately- just flour, butter and sugar. You can also look at some vegan recipes; there are some egg substitutes (eg flax seeds, chia seeds, the water from a chickpea can).

TheStuffWasBad · 20/04/2020 20:58

Of course you can! Try googling vegan recipes for whatever your want to bake.

Some have random ingredients, but others have fairly normal ones, and you can sub out vegan marg/soya milk etc for dairy ones.

CMOTDibbler · 20/04/2020 20:58

Have a look on Pintrest for wacky or crazy cake. No eggs or dairy, no weird ingredients, and super simple

Thisismytimetoshine · 20/04/2020 20:59

God, ignore me Blush. That's a sub for butter...

puds11 · 20/04/2020 20:59

Vegan recipe or there’s a war rations chocolate cake recipe that uses oil instead I think.

Lordfrontpaw · 20/04/2020 21:00

I just threw this together - www.bbcgoodfood.com/user/6896261/recipe/vanilla-mug-cake

Lifeisgenerallyfun · 20/04/2020 21:00

Plain scones?

Rebelwithallthecause · 20/04/2020 21:00

Scones do not require eggs

WalesStar · 20/04/2020 21:00

This one looks nice.

puds11 · 20/04/2020 21:01

I also think you can get a powder that acts as an egg substitute. I’m sure I used it when I was vegan.

Nemesia · 20/04/2020 21:01

I say this all the time but Tesco vegan Victoria sponge recipe is egg free and works every time, and can be made into cupcakes (just reduce baking time) or a sponge cake.

dragonmummy17 · 20/04/2020 21:02

Vegan recipes, use bananas or you can (or could pre-lockdown) buy egg replacement. I use a mix of vegan but substitute real dairy, or the egg replacement, but add an extra teaspoon to what is recommended

AllTheProsecco · 20/04/2020 21:03

Also made the Tesco vegan sponge this week. They've also got a vegan salted caramel cupcake recipe. I used the topping from these for the big cake, delicious!

Macca84 · 20/04/2020 21:03

Chia seeds are a brilliant egg replacement, tasty and healthy too Grin

WooYa · 20/04/2020 21:03

I used the 'Gluten-free chocolate fudge brownie' recipe on the Tesco Real Food website and substituted chickpea flour and water for the eggs. Its 3tbsp of flour and 3tbsp of water for 1 egg. They're amazing- even friends who dont have allergies loved them

Oinkypig · 20/04/2020 21:04

Rose elliots vegan sponge is delicious, no odd ingredients. It doesn’t rise a huge amount but is really light

julybaby32 · 20/04/2020 21:04

Flapjacks

jmh740 · 20/04/2020 21:05

Google vegan recipes but my first thought wa biscuits or flapjacks

Dashel · 20/04/2020 21:06

Flap jacks, jam tarts, I think most biscuits don’t have eggs in them.

This one always works well as I hardly ever buy eggs. The smashed bananas act as the wet ingredient. You can substitute the choc chips for anything really.

Littlebelina · 20/04/2020 21:08

domesticgothess.com/blog/2019/02/05/easy-ginger-cake-vegan/ This one worked well for me

Kitkatandcoffee · 20/04/2020 21:14

Fruit scones, treacle scones. Any type of scone. Lots of biscuit recipes. Shortbread. Make empire biscuits kids enjoy putting jam in and icing on top.

KittenVsBox · 20/04/2020 21:17

I'd look at biscuits and some tray bakes and filter for naturally egg free recipies.

Cake needs a substitution, but is possible.

Enjoy the cooking and the eating!
