Egg free banana bread isn't bad.

This is fantastic. I could eat it every day.

Mummadeeze · 20/04/2020 21:28

It isn’t really baking but rocky roads don’t have eggs in and are delicious!

Banana and date oat bars

www.pennyledweaning.co.uk/snacks/banana-and-date-oat-bar

I put the whole banana in, rather than just half as I think that's nicer. You can adapt this recipe a hundred ways depending on what is in your cupboards (eg replace dates with raisins or dried fruit or coconut or chop chips or blueberries or chopped up apple bits or peanut butter. Or replace the milk with yogurt to change the flavour a little. I didn't have enough oats once so used shredded wheat and it still turned out beautifully!)

Lovely easy recipe, not too many ingredients (and less mess as no flour!).

Happy baking!

Not sure how to link but we made egg free cookies today. The recipe was on the bbc good food website.

I follow normal recipe and use 2tbsp green yoghurt and an extra 1tsp raising agent

Greek yoghurt!!!

TroysMammy · 20/04/2020 21:34

Self saucing chocolate pudding by allrecipes. I have a recipe pre internet which is basically the same.

DinosApple · 20/04/2020 21:36

American shortcake scones... I can't find my mum's recipe but the below one from Waitrose looks similar (but a bit posher Grin I wouldn't put rosemary in the dough).

www.waitrose.com/home/recipes/recipe_directory/a/american_strawberry_shortcake.html.

With strawberry jam and cream. It's more of a sponge than a scone, but no eggs. Delicious.

Mary Berry Fork biscuits

4oz (softened) butter, 2 oz sugar, 5 oz self raising flour. Mix it all together, divide into 16 balls, flatten with a fork dipped in water. 180 in oven for 15-20. Light and crispy.

Outtedagain · 20/04/2020 21:39

Soya flour is an egg substitute.
Make biscuits, they don’t require egg.
Or cake/sponge in the microwave. I love golden syrup. Use vegetable suet or grate frozen butter, add to flour and sugar, bicarbonate of soda and little milk or water to make sticky dough. I cook mine in the microwave for 4-5 minutes and serve with golden syrup. Yum

gavisconismyfriend · 20/04/2020 21:41

Aqua faba- liquid from canned chickpeas - is a great substitute. Whip it and will whisk into a meringue - needs electric whisk as takes a whole, but totally worth a go.

GetTheSprinkles · 20/04/2020 21:46

If you want something incredibly quick and easy: Mix 70mls oat milk & 100g self raising flour. Fry 1.5 mins each side. Delicious pancakes! Not technically baking but they're my all time fave and they're dairy/egg free. I also add cinnamon, nutmeg and raisins :)

Flynn999 · 20/04/2020 21:51

Ds is similar, you can do scones easily, or in cakes banana, apple sauce or flax seed work well (Holland and Barrett sell flax seed)

Google vegan recipes, but banana or apple sauce are normal substitutes in our house.

FthisS · 20/04/2020 22:30

Vegan family here, I usually use applecider vinegar in soya milk in place of egg. These are some of my bakes. Brownies, lemon cake and lotus cake.

Look for Creative Nature cake/baking mixes. They are vegan and free-from, designed for allergies. I know they're stocked in Tesco, but probably in other shops. Not the cheapest, but we made the choc cake and it was tasty!

YeahWhatevver · 20/04/2020 22:32

Shortbread

Hugt · 20/04/2020 22:40

Lots of vegans use some form of carbonated drink with boxed cake mixes with lots of success

Rono16 · 20/04/2020 22:40

Crazy cake( sweet little blue bird), vegan crepes (BBC), 321 biscuits ( 300g flour, 200g butter/ marge, 100g sugar) are our top 3, if Im feeling lazy a box of Betty C cake mix with 300 mls of soda water instant cakes.
Some others that I do are Pizza, scones, choc truffles ( not baking put still fun, cover im sprinkles)
Join a bunch allergy groups they will have loads of recipes, and some do blogs/ shopping lists of surprising allergy friendly treats. Then work out which you like/dont edit as needed.
my little is dairy, soya and Egg free.

Try magic bars by 'joy of baking' on YouTube. Plus lots of cookie recipes don't need eggs

AmazingAardvark · 20/04/2020 23:03
