The reporters are just playing him. Everyone in the press briefing room, including the actual podium, is smarter than Trump. For the reporters it's like kicking a sheep.

The beauty is that it's unedited bollocks. He can't deny what he's said in these sessions, so the more open-ended and uninterrupted the question the better.
