Husband says he will leave if I get a tattoo

Hey everyone this is my first time posting here and I’m just looking for a bit of advice.

Me and my husband have been married for 10 years we have a 3 year old together. before we met I already had 3 tattoos on my wrists and ankle

Last night I told him I wanted another tattoo, which he went crazy at saying he would leave if I got another one. He said that they disgust him and that he wouldn’t be able to look at me if I got one.

The tattoo would be on my forearm and it will be roses, a stop clock and my daughters name and birth date.

I really really want the tattoo, but if I get it I risk my marriage. I don’t know what to do

If a doctor saved your child’s life and you were obviously grateful, if he/she then rolled their sleeves up to reveal a tattoo of their child’s name would that make them less of a doctor?
On the hand I hope you don’t have kids.

Less of a doctor, no. Of course not, he or she has still done a good job, a job they were trained extensively to do. I would think less of them as a person tho.

I hope that the tattoo haters are actually decent enough people to tell those that they might know who have tattoos to their face that they think of them as sub-human, or whatever... so that the tattoo people can happily cut them out of their lives!

Otherwise it just makes you look even more of a dick.

Please can I clarify that I don’t wear crocs as a fashion statement. I wear them for comfort when walking the dog

They might think it, I dont know. People dont like many styles, that's just life. Often people think less of people for what they do, how they dress, how they act.

I didn't say anything about thinking it. I asked if she would tell a stranger that she thinks it.

I know they’re not cool but they’re brill for walking the dog on the beach where I might want to splash in the shallows.

Would you be ok with a random stranger coming up and telling you that your crocs are vile and make you look like a lower class chav and that they think less of you for wearing them? Would you be ok with your daughter going up to a random stranger and telling them that?

In turn I wear my uggs all winter and I’m sure people judge me on those too. I’m just not bothered as the menopause has made my comfort paramount!

I’ve read threads about how awfuland slobber Uggs are. I don’t care, why would I! I’d be hurt if someone told me to my face though as there’s nothing to gain from that.

I don’t mind knowing that uggs and crocs have a certain reputation from randoms on the internet!

I would never tell a friend or colleague that I hate their tattoo to their face, but I think it’s fine to mention that I’m not a fan.

But op has asked the question hasnt she, on AIBU? So she has asked people of their opinions. If noone gives their true opinion, it's like asking people for opinions on an outfit, and everyone going "oh it looks lovely", when actually they think it looks awful!!!

I said this to my DH when he said he wanted a piercing.
It’s your body so ultimately of course it’s your choice but if your DH doesn’t like tattoos, I don’t really get why you’d choose to have another to be honest
