Sadly, 'Psychics' Do prey on the vulnerable. It os only when someone is at their wit's end that they would even consider going to see a psychic.
I paid £10 and none of what I was told ever cam to pass.
Ditto 'Aura' photography..?It was about £16 ..a long time ago, and the metal hand plates that people were to place their hands on seemed strange to me...no conducting gel... I lifted up the scarf to see that there were no wires there at all....... the camera operator was angry.
It again was an utter con.
I have met some Romany gypsies in Kent where I lived alongside them one summer, they were lovely people. Very quiet.
Like you, I really wanted to believe in Psychics..but alas, it does seem to be a way of making money fast.
Derren Brown made me realise how so much of it is ''cold reading'' and Barnum statements..that apply to us all.
@Devlesko is correct...People contact psychics for three main reasons, Relationships, professional life, health.
There really isn't anything else that worries people enough to contact a Psychic.
In the Lockdown, if you can, watch Derren Brown on ?
You Tube. He debunks psychics and faith healers.
Some have been caught cheating in quite bad ways. Googling clients &c.
However.Some people definitely have some sort of powers..A Midwife I knew laid her hands over me after the death of a friend, and I felt an incredible woosh of warmth almost ''raining'' down..It was very soothing.
But she denied she had any 'power' herself... {and did not charge}
Good luck :)
