Isn’t there a princess in Europe that’s now working as a HCA?

A queen somewhere in Asia cooking for the poor?

Harry and Meghan delivering meals?

Bet if Diana was here she’d be out doing everything in her power to help the ordinary folk 💪

And we cannot afford to rehouse Grenfell Residents, our homeless or fully equip and staff our hospitals, schools and Prisons.

So what the fuck are Kate and Willy doing?
LaMarschallin · 23/04/2020 10:26

They must have stronger stomachs than I do.

To use such twee language, I mean.
Not to have to look at jolly prince L, who looks as nice as the next 2 year old.
Unless the next 2 year old was one of mine, in which case he suffers by the comparison, imo.

LaurieMarlow · 23/04/2020 10:29

They really do think we’re stupid.

In fairness, many people out there are, swallowing the ‘they only cost me 62p’ message hook line and sinker.

The PR team must have a real chuckle some days about how easy the dumbasses make their job for them.

MaddieElla · 23/04/2020 10:30

PR stunt?

It’s his bloody birthday. They haven’t singled him out either, they do it for every birthday. Hmm

LaurieMarlow · 23/04/2020 10:30

I have an almost two year old and he’s on another stratosphere of cuteness.

And I KNOW I’m not biased. That’s objective fact right there. Wink

Wolfgirrl · 23/04/2020 10:33

@maddieella

Of course it is a PR stunt. Theyve released photos to the newspapers. What else is it? A tambourine?

I expect they will count the photo taking as several engagements once you've factored in coffee breaks.

Mamamia456 · 23/04/2020 10:35

Maddie - Exactly. It's because he's 2 tomorrow.

Can't believe the vitriol on here aimed at a 2 year old toddler.

Wolfgirrl - Where have I compared them to other rich/posh people. Think you've got me confused with someone else.

LaurieMarlow · 23/04/2020 10:38

There’s no vitriol at all towards a toddler, it’s been acknowledged that he’s cute. Reading comprehension clearly isn’t at its sharpest on here today!

And the fact that they always do it, doesn’t mean it’s not a PR stunt. They’re always trying to distract us with the cute kids so that the 62p brigade feel they’re getting their money’s worth.

Mamamia456 · 23/04/2020 10:38

Wolfgirrl - The press ask for the photos to be released.

Wolfgirrl · 23/04/2020 10:39

@mamamia456

Wolfgirrl - Many people in life get a job through family connections. Quite often in the world of employment it's not what you know but who you know.
^there you go.

What 'vitriol' have we aimed at louis personally? Do tell, and quote us word for word if possible.

Mamamia456 · 23/04/2020 10:41

Laurie - Yeah whatever you want to believe.

BurneyFanny · 23/04/2020 10:47

Not to mention that PW's four-month training course was specially tailored for him, it usually takes much longer than that. Dumping his "career" less than two years later is the very definition of a massive pisstake.

Alsohuman · 23/04/2020 10:57

I can tell you that nobody in a public service job is any of these (at least not as a result of their job).
You get to the top through hard graft - not connections or by accident of birth. They are not jobs that come with bonuses, freebies or similar

And I can tell you I saw, in my 30 years working at a senior level in the public sector, more nepotism than anyone would credit, masses of jobs for the boys . NHS consultants can get points that put their salaries in the top 1% of the population, the CEO of a tinpot government agency I worked for was getting £200k. If people really knew what was going on in the upper echelons of the public sector they’d be appalled.

Wolfgirrl · 23/04/2020 11:03

@alsohuman

So because others do it, it is fine for the royals to do it too? That's your argument? The 'not as bad as' rationale?

LaurieMarlow · 23/04/2020 11:04

Still not in anyway comparable to the Royal Family.

Mamamia456 · 23/04/2020 11:04

Wolfgirrl - That doesn't apply to just rich/posh people as you say. People from all walks of life get jobs through people they know. I know someone who got a job in a shoe shop because their aunt was friends with the boss. It happens all the time. Thought it was common knowledge.

"They have stronger stomachs than I do"
Nasty thing to say about looking at cute photos of a 2 year old.

Alsohuman · 23/04/2020 11:05

No that isn’t my argument @Wolfgirrl. You’re very adept at putting words in people’s mouths or twisting them. It was a response to a statement I quoted.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 23/04/2020 11:05

What's with the whole PR stunt crap.
They do this with all their kids on birthdays and I say this as a non Royalist.

LaurieMarlow · 23/04/2020 11:06

200k is fucking chicken feed to the royals.

And for that 200k you still have to have significant qualifications, work office hours, deliver on your objectives and you can be fired if you don’t!

twirlycat77 · 23/04/2020 11:15

PR stunt?

It’s his bloody birthday. They haven’t singled him out either, they do it for every birthday. hmm

It IS PR. Every birthday they do it is PR too. They’d love it if they could just keep clawing all our money in without having to give us any begrudged pics at all. But very good PR in these times especially.

How little they have to do to keep the peasants happy.

Clavinova · 23/04/2020 11:17

The revelations have raised questions about the way in which the RAF has allowed the prince to fit his "intensive" four-month training course around his social life. As well as his cousin's stag do, William has had time off to go on a boozy boys-only surfing weekend in Cornwall and a week's holiday ski-ing in the Swiss alps with his girlfriend.

The newspaper conveniently overlook the fact that the "boozy boys-only surfing weekend" was with his "RAF pals." Grin According to the BBC, William commenced his helicopter training on 7th Jan 2008 - he was photographed skiing at Easter (Prince Charles joined him Good Friday) - can't see the problem myself.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 23/04/2020 11:26

Well if course it's PR in the sense they are doing what they always do and what is generally expected in order to keep the plebs placated.
Suggesting it's some kind of deliberate or unusual step is a bit off.

LaMarschallin · 23/04/2020 11:35

Can't believe the vitriol on here aimed at a 2 year old toddler.

There really hasn't been any.
No more than there's "vitriol" directed on other threads towards, for example, babies who wear hair bands by people who think hair bands on babies look silly.
They may have an opinion about the parents (which I still don't think would amount to "vitriol" or hatred - but everything must be taken to histrionic extremes. No like/dislike, for example all love/hate; no "criticism" only "bashing") but there's no judgement on the child.

Nobody's suggesting Louis demanded to have his picture in the papers; he's been called "cute"; even I think he looks fine (and I'm not a person who thinks every baby is good looking).

But it's an easy and, imo I'm afraid, lazy comment to type.

Especially when Yeah whatever you want to believe is the best support of that comment.

LaMarschallin · 23/04/2020 11:41

"They have stronger stomachs than I do"
Nasty thing to say about looking at cute photos of a 2 year old.

I knew someone would wilfully misunderstand that. Which is why I immediately posted :

They must have stronger stomachs than I do.

To use such twee language, I mean.
Not to have to look at jolly prince L, who looks as nice as the next 2 year old.
Unless the next 2 year old was one of mine, in which case he suffers by the comparison, imo.

See?

I was talking about the twee language used by the tabloids.

And I'm being kind calling it wilful misunderstanding.
Some might call it stupidity.

Wolfgirrl · 23/04/2020 11:46

@Mamamia456

You're really comparing somebody giving their relative a job in a shoe shop (with, you know, a job contract and most likely the minimum wage) to our multimillionaire heads of state, who have a hereditary guaranteed life of luxury paid for by the taxpayer? The mind boggles.

I'm sorry, where did somebody post 'people looking at louis must have a stronger stomach than I do?' Because I thought that comment related to the sycophantic gushing in the article. But I suppose that wont stop you paraphrasing for your own ends.
