A queen somewhere in Asia cooking for the poor?

Harry and Meghan delivering meals?

Bet if Diana was here she’d be out doing everything in her power to help the ordinary folk 💪

LaMarschallin - I would imagine the majority of people in their 90s do. In fact most people in their 90s would struggle to even step in to the bath unaided.

I have relatives in their 80s who need help with bathing, what's wrong with that?

Nothing. I'm all for people having help with bathing if they need it. Not sure there needs to be a special thermometer (most people just wiggle a hand in the water) or the depth measured.
I just think it's unlikely that most 80/90 year olds automatically get that help. And some have found it difficult to obtain or afford.

So, you think the queen was at least able to run her own bath in her 20s to 30s at least? And that there wasn't a maid doing it for her?

It is when its owners have a personal fortune of £360 million. Surely they should use their own money to save their staff’s jobs?

VB's business has been propped up by DB for donkey's years so yeah, I'd broadly agree with the hobby assessment. I think it's pretty poor she's trying to furlough staff although she's no different or any less reprehensible than any other multi millionaire business person trying to do the same.

The difference is in the length of time and the smoke and mirrors involved. The royals have been taking the taxpayer forever and we can't get full transparency on the nitty gritty.

Do you understand the difference between private and company money? Clearly not. It doesn’t work like that.

But if you’re going down this route, given the queens personal private fortune, why can’t she pay her own staff to save tax payer’s money?

I'm even less interested in the Beckham's than the royal family.
I think they Queen, Princess Anne and Sophie work hard but the rest of them useless. Kate and William are two of the worst. They just have no idea of what normal people are going through but pretend they do. To me that's really annoying and insulting. I wouldn't mind self isolating in a 10 bedroom house with a swimming pool, tennis courts and staff to do everything including look after the children.

@Alsohuman I dont know if posters on here realise but comparing the subject at hand to something worse (eg the royals to the beckhams) is not an argument. It's called the 'not as bad as' rationale.

It's like me saying rear ending your car is fine, because it isnt as bad as me actually running over somebody. It is nonsensical and a sign of a poor argument.

LaMarschallin - Not sure where you've got the thermometer from! I very much doubt she would have run her own bath, she is the Queen afterall. I thought that was the whole point of having a lady's maid, to do everything for you. I personally would hate it, but I suppose if that's how you have been brought up then you would see it as normal.

If what the queen does was hard you can rest assured she wouldn’t be doing it, and no one would blame her. She lives a life of unimaginable ease, has the best health care, servants, chefs, dressers etc. It isn’t hard work what she does, as with everything she does in life, all the hard work and preparation is done by others, she gets the nice easy bit at the end.
