To think Piers Morgan has a point?

Personally not a fan of Piers Morgan and his interview style annoys me with the constant interruptions. However when questioning the health secretary I did think he had a point about taking a pay cut. Matt Hancock was quite quick when asked to suggest that footballers should take a pay cut but isn’t willing to do the same himself. My husband and I disagree but wondered what others thought. AIBU to think the Matt Hancock is being hypocritical by suggesting others should be taking a pay cut but not being willing to take one himself?

eagle
I’m sure they are but people are comparing her favourably to our govt for taking a pay cut when she will still earn a lot more for running a far smaller country.

NZ 's population is in centres of density but i take your point, its not a fair comparison..... but yet again, she has dne well and captured their nations mood.

A better comparison would be Germany, now coming out of lockdown.. after just 4 weeks, we are now in for at least 6 weeks, so still no education for our kids.

Just going back to how massively Arden is overpaid or possibly how little our politicians are paid. She earns 3p per year for every resident of NZ (that is after her pay cut)
Boris Johnson earns 1/5 of a penny for each resident.

I’m afraid you’re the one talking rubbish. The population density of the Scottish Highlands is 8 per square km, that of New Zealand is 18 per square km.

Pretty sure it is slightly harder to social distance in the city of Auckland than in the Scottish Highlands! I do realise that the pop density is much less in NZ than in the UK (and for this we consider ourselves lucky by the way), but to compare living in our cities to the Highlands is just silly.

Scotland would be a good comparison - no sign of Nicola cutting their salaries yet.
Price of a house in Wellington is about 300,000 pounds, same in London would be 7-900,000.

Matt Hancock is doing what you are doing OP - he is a keyworker working much harder than normal.
