...ground, even if you intend to pick them up on your way back is selfish and inconsiderate of others

Racetome looks like a good solution

CaroleFuckinBaskin · 16/04/2020 10:06

If your dog shits on a walk, bag it up and take it with you. Don't leave it on the floor, don't tie it to a fucking tree to 'pick up on the way back', take it with you.

Your dog, your shit to deal with! No one else wants to see it.

PegasusReturns · 16/04/2020 10:06

Although I would be surprised if someone took a baby in nappies to somewhere so remote that there's no bins nearby and would think that's a pretty rare occurrence

I assume you’ve never had a baby in nappies @Lockheart ?! People take babies to places where there aren’t bins all the time Confused

PegasusReturns · 16/04/2020 10:07

Is it just the countryside where this litterIng is allowed?

How do you feel about people leaving little bags of rubbish out the front of your house?!

SerenDippitty · 16/04/2020 10:07

When we had a dog I’d never dream of leaving the bag anywhere other than a bin. If no bin I’d take it home

Mustbethewine · 16/04/2020 10:07

Oooh this winds me up to no end!! I don't understand why people do this. They've made the effort to bag the shit 🤷‍♀️ all that's left to do is carry the bag of poop to the nearest bloody bin. I have a dog and I can honestly say I have never done this!!!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/04/2020 10:20

Lockheart - if you're leaving one bag by a pole and picking it up without fail, chances are no one ever sees it and the thread isn't really about you. Except that there are people who pretend to do what you've described.

queenMab99 · 16/04/2020 10:28

The trouble is if I bag it and leave it to pick up later, I can only do that if I comeback the same way, and I also have to leave it in a significant place, or I forget it, or can't find it, which explains why people hang bags on trees! I have obtained a small zip bag which attaches to my bumbag, and is smell proof which solves the problem.Grin

Rupertpenrysmistress · 16/04/2020 10:40

It is grim bag it and take it with you. I live along a canal path and the amount of these bags left it's disgusting. Especially when they have been squashed by bikes or buggy's.

When I walked my parents dog I always carry the poo bag with me but I hate it so, I don't have a dog.

bringincrazyback · 16/04/2020 10:57

This is revolting, especially in warm weather like we've been having. I can't believe people do this.

Gtugccbjb · 16/04/2020 11:05

Disgusting. Filthy. Same kind of people that say their dogs don’t smell but you nearly got knocked out when you enter their houses.

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 16/04/2020 11:10

Agree. Or hanging it on trees like a fucking decoration. I have 2 dogs and it would never cross my mind to bag it and leave it, or hang it off a tree. So weird Confused

Glowcat · 16/04/2020 12:22

As a dog walker I can assure you that people do dump used nappies on well used suburban walking routes. My dog finds them Envy. Also used wipes.

Macncheeseballs · 16/04/2020 12:25

Dig shit far more common than nappies where I live. Both are gross

Macncheeseballs · 16/04/2020 12:25

*dog shit

CuriousaboutSamphire · 16/04/2020 12:28

Too true, sadly. There's something irresistible to dogs about wipes and such like. Having to try and grab them out of his mouth, without thinking too much about what is one them, is a task I could do without.

Having asked one mum to pick hers up because it could cause my dog serious injury she shouted at me for being middle class, snobby, child hating, bullying, disgusting and all sorts of other things. As she was shouting her older child, about 5, picked up the dirty wipe and put it in a bag on the buggy handles and said sorry!

Not that that makes leaving dog poo bags lying around any less disgusting.

Oh! Can we add chewing gum to the list? My little sod will pull me for metres if he gets a sniff of fresh chewing gum!!!!

Alsohuman · 16/04/2020 12:28

If people pick them up on the way back then I don't have an issue with it. No sense in carrying it around for an hour is there?

This.

Lordfrontpaw · 16/04/2020 12:29

The poor animals that get sick or even die after eating bags is just disgraceful. Lazy sods. Your dog, your poo.

I've notices more poo on the pavement these days - I suspect bad dog owners just aren't othering because there are fewer people around to shame them into picking up after their pooch.

I did see a dog in a (doggy) nappy in the park the other day. It has a hole for its tail.

pilates · 16/04/2020 12:30

Awful. This last week on more than one occasion I have found poo bags that have been dumped right next to the bin on the ground! What is that all about? 😲😡

Glowcat · 16/04/2020 12:34

Mine was wriggling on her back like a pony on a dirty wipe the other day. It was on the edge of the path. She ended up sliding, very slowly, 15 feet down the steep side of a hill. On her back. When she finally stopped she had another roll.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 16/04/2020 12:36

Those that hang or leave their bagged dog shit to "collect on the way back" Hmm dont give a hoot about anyone apart from themselves. Won't carry their own dogs mess round in a bag but don't care if others walking the same route have to step over poo bags or walk past trees adorned with them.

Bag it. Keep it. Bin it. Or get rid of your dog.

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 16/04/2020 12:36

Hanging it on a tree is the absolute worst, I have seen the same bag 6 months later

Glowcat · 16/04/2020 12:36

I read about what xylitol can do to animals when I had Precious First Puppy and became thoroughly paranoid about chewing gum. He spent his first few months trying to gnaw it off pavements.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 16/04/2020 12:49

I'm noticing a lot more unbagged shit that usual since lockdown began

By mine it's always unbagged because the scumbags simply open their front and let their dogs shit on the pavement.
Doing the school run becomes a game of dodge the dog shit.

Hanging bags of shit from trees if fucking disgusting. Take a carrier bag with you to put your crap bags in.

Glowcat · 16/04/2020 12:58

I always pick up other dogs’ shit if I see it’s been left on a path. It usually happens maybe once a week? It seems to be happening every other day at the moment. I’m guessing that a lot of people who rarely walk their dogs are taking them out more at the moment.
