I stupidly got my weeks mixed up and have just realised I'm supposed to be hosting a zoom quiz tomorrow night (not next week!) I've done a little prep and got a good advertising section together I think (slogans and pictures) but I really need good general knowledge/geography etc

The guy who done last weeks quiz was brilliant (wasn't too hard all questions you knew you should know the answer to iykwim) and I thought at the time how glad I was I didn't have to follow his class act now it turns out I do have to Blush

I've just heard this one on Jimmy Carr's Tiny Quiz thingy:

Q - Where is St Edmund buried?

A - Bury St Edmunds

Love it.

Wrongdissection · 15/04/2020 22:30

I did an ace music quiz on zoom last week, using YouTube clips. Just cut them so you don’t get the title in the clip and away you go.

Also did a general knowledge quiz, few facts I used included babies are born with more bones than adults, la Paz is the highest capital city in the world and sharks can blink.

This is from DH, not me (football related).
At football cup final matches (any cup), what item MUST be available but is NEVER used?

What song is playing on the radio alarm clock every morning when Bill Murray wakes up in Groundhog Day

Disquieted1 · 15/04/2020 22:37

Who was the Third Man?

Answer = Abel
Adam/Cain/Abel

I like this because the smart alecs will ask "Do you want the actor (Orson Welles) or the character (Harry Lime)?"
missing the point entirely.

Cheeringmeup · 15/04/2020 22:41

Sorry, forgot to put the answer - it’s the ribbons in the losing team’s colours.

How many actors have played Batman in GILMS and can you name any? (Micheal Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, Ben fecking Affleck and soon-to-be Robert Pattison)

Name the year: fall of the Berlin wall, first man on the moon, Chernobyl, first Paralympics, first flight across the Channel, opening if Channel Tunnel, Hong Kong handover. Etc.

My favourite music quizzes are where you play the first line of a song, eg "she came from Greece she had a thirst for knowledge..." And you get a minute to continue writing as much of the song as possible. Then count your words. Winner has the most words - you can play the song as they sing along

Which English word has five consecutive vowels? Queueing

PinkFlamingo888 · 15/04/2020 23:21

I don’t like to brag but I was very proud of one round of my quiz in particular. I recorded the first 20 - 30 seconds of movies and had a few questions relating ie. what was the movie, actor’s name character’s name etc. Obviously you can choose any movies you fancy but needs to be a fairly iconic opening. We did the likes of Love Actually, Matilda, Forrest Gump, Toy Story etc

PinkFlamingo888 · 15/04/2020 23:22

As in the sound only

BackforGood · 15/04/2020 23:23

I’ve never used zoom so I don’t know, but can you do an activity round? Things everyone will definitely have at home like how many loo rolls can you balance on your head? Draw a scene from this film (play Jurassic park music) etc. You judge the winner. Used to go to a pub quiz that had a round like that and it was always fab
