'our health and social care workers are well paid for what they do'.

AIBU to think as care minister she needs to acquaint herself with the pay scales.

YANBU what a ridiculous assertion.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 15/04/2020 08:47

YANBU, she is delusional

onalongsabbatical · 15/04/2020 08:47

Well she's deputy chair of the Tory party. They're still Tories. Don't be lulled into thinking they've changed.

LittleLittleLittle · 15/04/2020 08:48

There appears to be a lot of delusional MPs around at the moment.

Russell19 · 15/04/2020 08:48

That interview was painful

onalongsabbatical · 15/04/2020 08:51

Where was the interview? Today prog or TV or what?

Eggcited · 15/04/2020 08:52

That's batshit.

AJPTaylor · 15/04/2020 08:57

Really? Where I live, there are constant advertising campaigns for staff because frankly the pay is shocking. Posts used to be filled by Phillipino staff.

Hingeandbracket · 15/04/2020 08:57

Hopefully this kind of interview will show up what an easy ride Tories like her in a constituency where a fucking dead nematode worm with a blue rosette would get a huge majority have.

She was reading from Cummings e-mail trying to say the government
is working hard as much as possible.

This is what happens when you have an electoral system that allows safe seats.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 15/04/2020 09:06

She has caused a lot of disgust in our house by her ignorance and degrading comments.I promise you OP not all tories think like that.

frillyfarmer · 15/04/2020 09:11

The whole interview was painful, compounded by the fact that she apparently couldn't compose herself enough to stop giggling 🥴

HugeAckmansWife · 15/04/2020 09:12

I'd like to hear this...where was it?

MrsHoolie · 15/04/2020 09:12

What a cringe fest!

SunshineCake · 15/04/2020 09:17

If you are talking about the interview with Piers Morgan she laughed because he said he wanted her to look at something and she'd been told to set up in such a way that she couldn't see the paper.

That's all.

Raffathebear · 15/04/2020 09:17

She was absolutely slayed by Piers 😍 and she was smiling, maybe nervously but she was. What a useless MP! I also found her excuse that her voting was tactical absolutely infuriating.

cherrybunx0 · 15/04/2020 09:21

yanbu - actually made me furious that interview, ie. politicians and celebrities getting tests over care workers aswell as the video of the cheer when the pay rise was capped at 1 percent. I cant even express how disgraceful it all is

C8H10N4O2 · 15/04/2020 09:21

Perhaps she would like to swap income then.

luckylavender · 15/04/2020 09:22

She's awful always

jasjas1973 · 15/04/2020 09:25

Piers Morgan gave her the grilling that ALL politicians should be getting...
She is a minster for health yet she didn't know how many NHS staff had died, couldn't answer simple yes or no questions on voting intentions or testing.

But to be fair to her (and all other politicians) she is used to benign questioning from BBC journalists and not being held to account.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 15/04/2020 09:26

As care minister she needs to acquaint herself with reality.

Raffathebear · 15/04/2020 09:27

Yes CHERRY, its really disgusting. Gove, idris elba etc had access to the test but not front line health workers...

Eggcited · 15/04/2020 09:28

couldn't answer simple yes or no questions

I thought this was a prerequisite of any MP / politician. They never seem to give yes / no answers. Choosing instead to ramble in a unspecified direction, until they are off the actual topic at hand. Grin

Completely agree and I live in such a seat. However this woman has a ministerial position so someone has obviously decided she is worth appointing. Says everything you need to know about he Tories in my opinion.

Greenpop21 · 15/04/2020 09:29

Who?

KrakowDawn · 15/04/2020 09:30

Has she any clue what care staff get paid? The hours and conditions under which they work? Wth?

She should do what some others have done in the past, and tried to live for a week on someone else's income. If she did their job too, she might have a better idea of what they're up against.
