One of our neighbours has come up with a great idea... all of us singing something together after Clapping for Carers.

Hugely looking forward to it and love to know what you would most enjoy singing with your neighbours? Guessing something that is uplifting, appeals to all generations and where most people know most of the words....the Beatles keep springing to mind!

In honor of our govt mandated one walk a day...

I would walk 500 miles

Pinkywoo · 14/04/2020 20:59

OP are you the cheerful bastard soul on my street that keeps putting notes with this kind of "uplifting street activity" through my door? The latest gem is a lockdown catwalk up and down the road (while maintaining social distancing of course), I never thought I'd be glad to be in the shielding group.

Also if we're starting a miserable bastards nature reserve I'm in.

crankysaurus · 14/04/2020 21:09

Bet the bagpipes would make a good noise when then get thrown on.

"We Might Be Dead By Tomorrow"

I guess that would be uplifting enough.

Phifedean123 · 14/04/2020 21:44

A court across the road from where I live has been playing a song on a loud speaker after every Thursday clap and yes its cringe buts it's also kinda nice I admit I have had a wine induced sing a long Blush
Songs so far have been--We are the champions by Queen. Heroes by Bowie and yes they really did go there and do Wonderwall last week but that one was a step too far for me 😂

livefornaps · 14/04/2020 23:51

I've got one "fuck off then fuck off some more" the extended remix edition

JKScot4 · 14/04/2020 23:53

Nothing, does anyone consider the shift working NHS staff being woken by this god awful racket?
Banging pots, car horns, fireworks, it’s out of hand.

livefornaps · 14/04/2020 23:55

@JKScot4 i completely agree plus there was someone on 'ere proudlydescribing that "even their dogs were barking in support " lol!!! No it's because they're infuriated by that god awful racket

RedWine123 · 14/04/2020 23:59

Maybe a Bill Withers song?

Knowhowufeel2 · 15/04/2020 00:34

Is there a song called:

"Fuck off with all this virtue signalling shit!"?

If so, that one.

Otherwise, nothing.

steff13 · 15/04/2020 02:06

So y'all are doing that clapping thing every week now? Do you feel like that takes away from the meaning of it?

GinnyStrupac · 15/04/2020 02:34

The Sound of Silence Wink

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 15/04/2020 02:43

You're going to film it and try to go viral aren't you?

GinnyStrupac · 15/04/2020 02:53

But if you HAVE to, might I suggest Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life Halo

DysonFury · 15/04/2020 04:19

Knees Up Mother Brown.

honeyloops · 15/04/2020 05:17

Oh good god I'd hate this SO much.

TimeForDinnerDinnerDinner · 15/04/2020 05:38

How about a rousing chorus of Onward Christian Soldiers to ignite our fighting spirit against this disease?
Or, if that's too religious, maybe a good old fashioned sing-song of the Neighbours theme tune? And a 1 2 3 4 #Neeeighbours, everybody needs good neeeighbours....#
Grin

Seriously now, awful idea. Please God, no. Ugh.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 15/04/2020 05:46

Je t'aime moi non plus by Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg. That should get everyone going.

Piglet89 · 15/04/2020 06:06

@user1471517900 BRILLIANT.

catinb0oots · 15/04/2020 06:09

I haven't read RTWFT but the first ten responses made me actually LOL.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 15/04/2020 06:15

It's worth reading the whole thread as there are some corkers on here. I particularly love Roll Out The Barrel. This is the sort of thread that should go into Classics.

1066vegan · 15/04/2020 06:19

I don't watch a lot of live telly but had itv on last night and saw the Thursday Night is Carers' Night (or whatever they are calling it) video.

Whoever made the what fresh hell is this? comment earlier should have kept their powder dry and saved the comment for that monstrosity. Truly toe-curling and vomit-inducing.

Unbelievable! Or it would have been a few short months ago.

Strugglingtodomybest · 15/04/2020 09:15

It's already hit Cornwall, so I expect it'll spread faster than a corona virus to the rest of the country: www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/cornwall-urged-sing-together-nhs-4010210

PhilCornwall1 · 15/04/2020 09:25

@Strugglingtodomybest I saw this report last week and thought "oh shit, no!!!". Fortunately nobody that I heard did it around here.

The only extra we had were the ships in the docks letting rip their horns.

Notsureaboutsymptoms · 15/04/2020 09:27

Darling Nikki by Prince? I think it could go viral on social media..
