One of our neighbours has come up with a great idea... all of us singing something together after Clapping for Carers.

Hugely looking forward to it and love to know what you would most enjoy singing with your neighbours? Guessing something that is uplifting, appeals to all generations and where most people know most of the words....the Beatles keep springing to mind!

I'm an NHS worker with the virus - symptoms for 2 weeks, still feel like shit. Last Thursday someone played the last post on a bugle instead of clapping. There were also bagpipes down the far end of the road.

Please don't make me suffer any more.

Shift workers trying to rest/sleep are going to love this, you know the ones who we should actually be helping as much as we can.

It's starting to devalue and make annoying what was a nice thing in the beginning.

squashyhat · 14/04/2020 16:24

Things can only get better (as soon as the singing stops)

NotACult · 14/04/2020 16:24

Just no. FGS.

FenellaMaxwell · 14/04/2020 16:26

Oh dear god. I hope you aren’t my neighbours! A 14 hour day at the hospital and then awkward karaoke would not be my perfect Thursday!!

If you want to enter into the spirit, our current anthem is “No, we can’t get no scrubs, Boris Johnson ain’t got no love for me....”

Fluffybutter · 14/04/2020 16:28

Absolutely nothing .
This is all getting bloody ridiculous and just an excuse to do something because you’re all bored

ItsGoingTibiaK · 14/04/2020 16:30

Going out and clapping once for the people doing a fantastic job was kind of a nice idea, for people who wanted to do it.

Then came the judging and shaming of people who weren’t joining in. And then “let’s clap for the kids, for Boris, for the pets...” Then it was banging pots and pans. Now it’s singing as well.

It’s like poppies and minutes’ silences ramped up to the max. Why does everything have to be like this? It’s perfectly possible to care about something without making sure EVERYBODY ELSE KNOWS ABOUT IT.

TheQueef · 14/04/2020 16:30

Something inside so strong.
So you can all get emotional and have a street cry.
Plus all that solidarity air punching.
It will be epic.

WeAllHaveWings · 14/04/2020 16:31

One of our neighbours has come up with a great idea... all of us singing something together after Clapping for Carers.

We have 'one' of those neighbours in our street too. Everyone ignores them and they go away eventually.

dear lord, what a dreadful idea - my DH after a couple of 12 hours shifts wouldn't appreciate it. It's just showing off
