One of our neighbours has come up with a great idea... all of us singing something together after Clapping for Carers.

Hugely looking forward to it and love to know what you would most enjoy singing with your neighbours? Guessing something that is uplifting, appeals to all generations and where most people know most of the words....the Beatles keep springing to mind!

Bridge over Troubled Water

We sang Jesus Christ is Risen Today and Thine Be The Glory on Sunday morning (next door arranged it, set up by a Christian Radio station they listen to). It was quite fun, and several neighbours posted on WhatsApp that they appreciated it.

I think (unless you have several experienced singers dotted around the street) you'd need a backing track.

WitchQueenofDarkness · 14/04/2020 13:26

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

SpratsOnParade · 14/04/2020 13:27

The sound of silence and I don't mean Simon and Garfunkel. I can't imagine anything worse. Are you sure your neighbour isn't the Marquis de Sade?

TotesGodsWill · 14/04/2020 13:29

There was Sing for Wales yesterday where people sang the welsh national anthem, that was rather lovely as it’s a song most people know and lots of people love. I’m not sure the English national anthem would have quite the same effect.

Merename · 14/04/2020 13:30

This is a reverse right?

20Newnames · 14/04/2020 13:30

I sing in a choir but I would hate to sing with neighbours.

My voice is decent enough but it is a choir voice not a solo one. I would not want to sing out loud from my doorstep. Sorry.

Magicpaintbrush · 14/04/2020 13:33

I would hate this. Hate it. And if my neighbours tried to drag me into doing this I would deeply resent it. I don't know anybody who would want to do this.

gk6277 · 14/04/2020 13:35

I Will Survive... Gloria Gaynor, great tune to belt out and annoy the miseries out there !! 😆

SpratsOnParade · 14/04/2020 13:36

You mean the sane people.

HermanTheWorm · 14/04/2020 13:37

It's bad enough people are setting off fireworks and banging spoons on pans, which goes straight through me.

If it was mandatory, I'd have to vote for My Corona (the My Sharona cover), or perhaps Cameron I Would Call You A C* (if they could modify it for BoJo) by Muddy Summers and the Dirty Field Whores. But the feel good song would have to be In You're Happy And You Know It Clap Your Hands.......

BeTheHokeyMan · 14/04/2020 13:39

Thank God I live rurally I couldn't imagine being subjected to clapping and singing en masse every night Confused

MoveOnTheCards · 14/04/2020 13:39

Christ. Thank God our street is sane!

Umnoway · 14/04/2020 13:40

Jesus, I hope this doesn’t come into fruition.

PanamaPattie · 14/04/2020 13:41

🤢

YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh · 14/04/2020 13:42

If I sang outside I would clear the street. Babies and young children would be traumatised and in therapy for years. Adults would take to the bottle to drown out the dreadful memory. Don’t do it OP, you know it makes sense not to do this.

SarahTancredi · 14/04/2020 13:42

Yes its fucking political? Skunk anansie?

Or theres the dont do this cringey shit option I'll be participating in Grin thank god for headphones

LouiseTrees · 14/04/2020 13:43

If you are in Wales. “My my my Delilah. Why why why Delilah.”. In Scotland, don’t do it. In England “ 3 lions”.

Mammatino · 14/04/2020 13:48

Oh bless you! No though. Just donate a fiver to the ppe fund for them, you could take a screen shot and post it on Facebook though so everyone would know you did it.

YangShanPo · 14/04/2020 13:51

How about the theme tune from "Neighbours?"

FaFoutis · 14/04/2020 13:53

Please don't.

BrokenBrit · 14/04/2020 13:54

The young NHS staff on the wards are currently singing and dancing to:
‘You’re on the frontline
Everyone’s watching
Dust yourself off ...’
and on it goes!
Don’t know what song it is, I feel about 102 tbh.

What about the friends theme tune?

Is this even a thing now?

MacRedsocks · 14/04/2020 13:55

Smack my bitch up?

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 14/04/2020 13:57

Please don’t. Just don’t.

Anoisagusaris · 14/04/2020 13:58

Do whatever you want but please god don’t post it on social media
