To be annoyed about my neighbours complaining

About my children playing in the garden? And us playing music over the bank holiday weekend (not loud)? The children only play out when its nice weather so not that much, I’m happy they are outside and not stucknto ipads etc!

OP posts:
hesgotit · 14/04/2020 18:37

Your idea sounds perfectly reasonable @carriebreadshaw! But some people who appear to be on this thread aren't that considerate, like the OP who had music going for the kids from 10 am to 7pm!

Summersun77 · 14/04/2020 18:43

@carriebreadshaw couldn’t agree more 👏

@hesgotit but that’s not what people are saying. The majority of people on this threat are saying no music, ever, at any volume, regardless of what kind of music/how quiet/how long for.

hesgotit · 14/04/2020 18:54

No they're not @Summersun77 it's people like you going out to out your music on full blast that piss the off. Because you had a tantrum with MN people not accepting your frankly childish responses to them!

FNuts · 14/04/2020 19:23

Unable to locate my old books of about 20 years ago, so quick Google search brought up this link.

FNuts · 14/04/2020 19:24

Should give an idea of what is reasonable and what is excessive

Thecazelets · 14/04/2020 19:39

What is a normal volume? It’s not normal to play music outside at all. So, zero. An adult shouldn’t need to have a music accompaniment all the time like an overgrown baby with a dummy and an attachment disorder

My thoughts exactly. If I do want to listen to music where it might disturb others I'll use headphones like the considerate adult I believe myself to be. My dc are teenagers and do the same; when they were younger they played in the garden but were not allowed to kick footballs against the neighbours' fences. I live in a built up area in London and that seems to me to be the deal.

Summersun77 · 14/04/2020 19:43

@hesgotit what the fuck are you on about?? I don’t blast music ever and my response was obviously a joke in response to someone telling me to play on the swings

Summersun77 · 14/04/2020 19:43

@hesgotit see I commented a perfectly reasonable and polite message to you there and you’ve responded like an absolute dick haven’t you.

fishfingerface · 14/04/2020 19:46

Music in gardens is very selfish

hesgotit · 14/04/2020 19:51

@Summersun77 "sigh" I don't play to your tune, you told me to "shut up" earlier, that was it, no reason measured answer, just "shut up", like a petulant child.

Isn't it time you had some non screen time, it's got to be bed in around 30 mins?

hesgotit · 14/04/2020 19:54

@Summersun77 you have to drop in the fuck, dick, you've also had a couple of post deleted, I wonder why? You don't like rules do you?

What's wrong with listening to music with headphones? My DDs (11 and 8) have learned to do that when appropriate so as not to disturb other people.

Summersun77 · 14/04/2020 19:58

Fortunately there are no rules regarding playing music at a reasonable level in your own garden sweetie Smile

hesgotit · 14/04/2020 20:02

See this is exactly what I mean. I was responding to people saying it’s “chavvy”, and calling out hugely classist, divisive language. Then was accused of being a nightmare neighbour or of living in a street with other nightmare neighbours (neither of which are true).
So DO shut up, @hesgotit. You’re an insufferable twat and I feel sorry for YOUR neighbours, kids, family and friends, and anyone else with the misfortunes to have such a miserable person in their lives.

You're one very classy lady.........

Summersun77 · 14/04/2020 20:06

Thanks x

MarieQueenofScots · 14/04/2020 20:11

and calling out hugely classist, divisive language

I have to say, the only person giving any sort of class markers on this thread is you.

Summersun77 · 14/04/2020 20:18

Nope chav is classist and I’ll call it out every time I see it. Sorry if that upsets you but it obviously says more about you than me if it does.

MarieQueenofScots · 14/04/2020 20:20

Sorry if that upsets you but it obviously says more about you than me if it does

Why would it? I didn’t use the word. I made absolutely no comment on class as a society system.

Summersun77 · 14/04/2020 20:25

“You’re the only person giving any sort of class markers on this thread” indicating you don’t see the word chav as classist and divisive.

carriebreadshaw · 14/04/2020 20:26

See I hate headphones unless I'm on my own.

MarieQueenofScots · 14/04/2020 20:28

Bless you, you’re really overreaching here.

I know comprehension is a rare and wonderful beast on MN, but do try.

Read the words that are written and stop trying to find inference where there is none. It just makes you look foolish.

Summersun77 · 14/04/2020 20:30

Well done on your patronising non response because you know I’m right. I’m not responding to you any further because you’re being condescending and aren’t actually interested in an actual discussion or debate.

@carriebreadshaw me too. Especially if you’re sitting with friends or family.

MarieQueenofScots · 14/04/2020 20:32

I’m not responding to you any further

Thank goodness for a sensible point at last.

Bravo!

Hannah021 · 14/04/2020 20:34

we are so considerate to our neighbours that even bbqs we dont do to avoid smoke drifting towards them.
now that i want to buy a house, i really hope i land on considerate ones
