To ask how much Easter Chocolate your kids will eat today and what age they are....

...Stepchild thinks we are extremely unreasonable because he has 'only' had 1 small bag of mini eggs, one small egg, one small bunny (all part of an egg hunt kit), a decent piece of easter egg brownie and half a medium sized egg! Are we being unreasonable to say they have had enough for today?

Forgot to add they are 6....

It is totally reasonable to monitor and restrict a 6yo's Easter chocolate intake.

My two are 14 and 17. We each brought for the others and my mum said to get a egg for each of us when I last did a shop and she transferred me the money.
We had my mum's eggs last weekend and so have each received 2 today. I fully expect ds1's to be gone before the end of the day.

Dinomom52 · 12/04/2020 17:20

My 7 year old’s had a medium to small egg. He might get another part egg or a small Easter cake after tea.

KellyHall · 12/04/2020 17:21

My 3yo had one small smarties egg. She ate half before we knew she'd opened it, I'll give her the rest split in two over the next two days, then the smarties the day after. She was more excited about the trail of cardboard eggs we'd decorated together I'd hung around the garden to lead her to the smarties egg!

Easter Sunday has no limit for chocolate Grin tomorrow will be a different story, but it's only once a year they can eat as much chocolate as they can handle!

My fondest memories as a child was my siblings and I sneaking off to one of our bedrooms together to eat all of our easter chocolate!

JanewaysBun · 12/04/2020 17:22

2yo - nothing
33 yr old me - lots

ComeOnEileen11 · 12/04/2020 17:23

My 2 year olds isn't open yet. He doesn't really understand

TheMandalorian · 12/04/2020 17:24

4 and 6yo had a small easter squirrel and 13 tiny easter hunt eggs and figures each since 9am. They have another full egg but I'm not giving them that til tomorrow because 4yo has no self control.

Spied · 12/04/2020 17:26

DC 9+10 have both had 1 med sized egg ( with the bars) each.
More than enough for today although we do have a pack of creme eggs so I might allow one each later.
The other eggs can wait for tomorrow.

Tessaraqt · 12/04/2020 17:26

Easter Sunday is a "there are no rules" on chocolate. The kids have all their Easter eggs (4&5yr old) and can eat as much and as frequently as they want, whenever they want. No limits. One day of excess (which actually really never ends up that bad tbh!) brings them such pure joy it's like Christmas.

RedHelenB · 12/04/2020 17:29

Yabu let the kid eat their chocolate, It's one day .

Tessaraqt · 12/04/2020 17:29

And Blush they have A LOT. It's still mostly here though - they barely touch it. Most gets made into Rice Krispie cakes over the next few weeks

MamaWeasel · 12/04/2020 17:30

I agree with the 'no limits' brigade

CaroleFuckingBaskin · 12/04/2020 17:31

Mine just eat all of it. Then it's done. Everyone is happy. I cant complain as I too stuff choc all day at easter

NichyNoo · 12/04/2020 17:31

My two really aren’t bothered. Aged 9 and 7 - we did an egg hunt just before lunch. They got 3 eggs each (twirl, mini eggs and creme egg) and have each eaten one twirl bar. Put the eggs in the cupboard and haven’t asked for any chocolate since. We don’t make a big fuss about easter and eggs so they’re not really that fussed.

Spied · 12/04/2020 17:33

I now feel like the fun policeBlush

Tiddlytubbies · 12/04/2020 17:33

That's already quite a lot more than he usually gets 🙈 we can't have a 'no rules on chocolate Easter Sunday' as he would eat so much he would make himself sick! (Has on one occasion here and once at his mum's so we're taking no chances 😂)

Witchend · 12/04/2020 17:34

Mine usually get 1.
Dd1 will still have it intact next Christmas
Dd2's will be gone within the hour if getting it
Ds wil eat about half today and the rest over the week.

They've been like that since toddlers

meowcatmeow · 12/04/2020 17:35

My kids (10 and 15) got one egg each.
The eggs have been demolished.

We don't really do Easter besides a token egg each.

FthisS · 12/04/2020 17:35

Mine are vegan they had a lot of eggs and chocolate I mean loads. The 13yr old ate a bournville egg and the bar that came with it and half a bag of bournville buttons. 9yr old ate 1 small purple nomo bar, 3 vegan truffles and 1/3 of a vegan white chocolate raspberry egg. 7yr old ate 1 small blue nomo bar and one small moo free bar. They have far more restraint than me. The only reason I'm not eating them for them is because vegan chocolate costs a bloody fortune.

MsChatterbox · 12/04/2020 17:36

My 2 year old son has had a chocolate cupcake with choc frosting on top. He was pretty happy with that. I cut it up so he had it 3 times over the course of a day. Last year he had a kinder egg surprise. I grew up only having one Easter egg and I was always delighted to receive my one egg! Next year I'm planning an Easter egg hunt so there will be more chocolate available but I'm still planning to limit it.

hopefulhalf · 12/04/2020 17:37

We each (Dd 13, Ds 16 me and DH ) have a Lindt bunny we will eat over the next week. Some mini eggs have been consumed.

nokidshere · 12/04/2020 17:38

My two started a week ago! They have had 3 large eggs each since then complete with whatever small chocs are in there. Chocolate only for breakfast today. To be fair I only bought one, they bought the rest themselves. They are 18 and 21 Grin

We've never restricted chocolate on Easter Sunday. They've always managed to cope Wink

Isawamagpie · 12/04/2020 17:38

1 x chocolate chicken (medium size from Lidil)
Some small chocolate coins and balls.

However... he has just gone to his dads so he will probably have chocolate stuffed down this throat for the next 7 days!!

Treaclepie19 · 12/04/2020 17:41

My 4yo would eat it all if I let him. He's had about 1/4 of one egg and 2 small eggs (the egg hunt kind)
