The word ‘journey’

Omg I’m so sick of the word journey being used like this. It gives me uncontrollable rage.

I'm very literal minded.
Well I'm not really but I do think some metaphors have been done to death.

I couldn’t stand:
Socially distanced walk/coffee/meet up etc.

Glad that’s gone.

A new word that has been irking me lately, is someone saying they are in a 'situationship.' Fuck me, I can feel my hackles rising just typing this twatty non-existent bloody word.

Also, someone saying the word SANS instead of just saying the word WITHOUT. WTF is THAT about? eg... 'I went to do the food shop yesterday sans the kids, and got everything done so much quicker.' Just say 'WITHOUT the kids' you fucking eejit! Why are you sticking a random French word in? It doesn't make you look clever!

Also.. no? at the end of a sentence? 'I think everyone had a skateboard in the mid 1970s no?'

@MurmuratingStarling was googling trying to figure out what the heck people's problems are on another thread where OP was being mocked for using the term weaning journey. This is one of the only things that came up to explain people's nastiness.

The word people are looking for is ‘experience’ - but I guess saying ‘journey’ makes it feel more special and important to people who like to make a to do of fairly ordinary things that others just ‘experience’ or simply ‘get on with’.
