I found a teeny travel size bottle of liquid soap in the drawer that will be great to carry around in case I do something a bit messy for hand sanitizer.

After trying online to find seedling trays with lids, I realised that I could improvise with the plastic containers that tomatoes and grapes come in. (most years I just get plug plants).

I realised that Argos deliver to the mini-Sainsbury that is just across the road.

Anyone got some good things that've happened today, or you realised to share?

Happened to pass my neighbour on the drive and we spoke (from 20 ft away) for a good half an hour, just nice to natter away to someone not on a screen

Makes me realise that while being at home with DH and DCs isn't a massive difficulty I miss the little face to face interactions with other people.

My dd changed her gear cable on her bike.
On her own .
She is 7!

Pyjamaface · 09/04/2020 19:52

DM dropped off (on the doorstep before anybody starts shrieking) a load of plants she had bought me for my birthday.

One of DPs new hoodys fits me much better than him so it's mine now

Sh05 · 09/04/2020 19:54

My dad who's 4 finally mastered the letter E in her name! The giggle of relief had the whole house joining in with her.
Since lockdown she's been asking her teacher to give her a new name because the ee was too difficult.Grin

The start of a 4 day weekend

positivestuff · 09/04/2020 19:58

Name changed for this. The local school have been making PPE equipment and set up a fund raiser two days ago, they've already had donations over 4k and have supplied two hospitals.

I hung load of cuddly monkeys in our driveway tree and it's been nice to see people spotting them while they're out for their walks.

My garden is looking lovely. I am getting loads of jobs done that I have meant to do for ages so I feel like I'm getting on top of life for a change.

I made myself a little yoga space on my patio and when I was in downward dog I peeped through my legs to see green leaves, potted flowers and blue sky. Lovely.

ShineYourLight2 · 09/04/2020 19:59

Our DD (1) is showing signs of starting to walk. We would have missed this if we were still working outside of the home. I had resigned myself to the fact that going back to work would mean that we would miss milestones like this but it looks as though we won't now! Brightened up my day :)

My 8 month old has mastered what I refer to as “the slug”. He can sort of love himself about but he’s basically a slightly slower version of a slug but with arms. And legs obviously. His sister did the same 😂. Oh and my husband did the food shopping so I don’t have to and I’m pretty certain he’s never been more attractive. Hunter gatherer you see 🙈

cptartapp · 09/04/2020 20:05

I work in general practice and came home today with three Easter eggs from a bundle donated to all staff by a local supermarket. Nice gesture.

NoParticularPattern · 09/04/2020 20:06

Move himself* bloody phone. It still hasn’t learnt to cope with my fat thumbs then.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 09/04/2020 20:06

I had an email saying i had a win on my lotto ticket and when I logged in I had won £121, i was expecting a free lucky dip.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/04/2020 20:40

@EveryDayIsADuvetDay she is 18 weeks old

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 11/04/2020 01:45

she is very sweet averagebear 😺

Today's good things included:
Having seen an Easter Egg online that I liked (dark chocolate) I got the last one in the supermarket. I don't usually bother, but decided I'd treat myself to one this year.
Argos delivery arrived on the right day
It was lovely and sunny.

I heard wood pigeons in my area today, I wonder if they will move in now that the seagulls had left.

I also heard owls call to each other from different woodlands.

LouiseCollina · 11/04/2020 02:42

I bought a pear tree in Lidl while doing my grocery shopping and planted it in the garden today. It’ll be a good few years before it’s impressive to look at or yields any decent crop of fruit, but I love watching things grow in my garden and it cheered me up.

This thread is a great idea OP. Fair dues for spreading some good vibes amidst all the doom and gloom! Smile
