Reddit is great.
I don't really do the MNTrolls page, look on there occasionally if I have suspicions about a thread here (they've usually picked up on it as well!)
Currently I am on "pretty" subreddits.
My interests in life are dogs, cats, Guinea pigs, gardening, orchids, wine, comedy, funny parrots, British TV.
There are numerous subreddits for all of the above interests. I subscribe to each and my front page (MN equivalent "active") has content from only those subs.
Each sub has its own moderator/s and own rules. Some allow political conversation, some don't,for example. If they don't and you post something political, your post gets deleted. End of.
You upvote threads and comments that you particularly like or dislike. You are only supposed to downvote something that is irrelevant to the topic (basically the voting system isn't supposed to be a popularity contest).
You can then chose how you view the comments. By New, Controversial, Question and Answers or Got. The voting tally assigns each comment to one of those categories.
It is a bit crazy at first and I really don't like the desktop version, I use the app.
It is US Centric, there are many good subs but there are also a LOT of awful subs. You'd have to go looking for them though.
There's a much younger age group in there and I once got into a debate with a poster and then realised they must have been mid teens. I ended up blocking and moving on (the ability to block usernames is great!)
