What do you wish you'd done before lockdown kicked in?

  1. taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud Grin
  1. bought more Primark 'cosy leggings' for my youngest. She has a few sensory issues with clothing, and lives in these. Typically, they've gone all holey since lockdown, and I'm not sure sewing that fabric would work.

What about you?

Had mine and ds2's hair cut. Bought some summer clothes for me and the dcs.

In some ways, moved house (ours has sold and we're now in limbo) although our neighbours are lovely and it's quite comforting being in lockdown in familiar surroundings, even though it is too small and I covet a garden bigger than a postage stamp.

Ownedbypoppycat · 08/04/2020 09:00

Bought my new fridge freezer, no freezer at the moment and fridge is a tiny tabletop one
Making things very difficult

StCharlotte · 08/04/2020 09:00

Ooh judt realised there are nine pages. Apologies if the wills thing has already been covered.

Dieu · 08/04/2020 09:00

Umm, for those who are wishing you'd got your garden done, I had a gardener come over yesterday. Well, a friend's teenage son anyway, but he did a brilliant job. He brought all my friend's equipment (I don't have any, as I have no interest in gardening) and social distancing was perfectly possible. He came in our back gate, we stayed indoors, and we didn't have to be in contact at all. I had phoned him beforehand to explain what needed done. Money and something to do for him, and a tidy garden for us. Win win.

@Ownedbypoppycat

You and me both. The freezer part of my fridge-freezer broke down yesterday. I can only hope that the fridge doesn't follow suit ...

We took the babies to see their grandparents in the middle of March - the babies then got a cough the day we got home so we had to self isolate and by the time we were allowed out again all the restrictions were in place - so glad my parents were able to cuddle them but I wish I’d asked them to take the babies overnight to give me a night off - one twin thinks sleep is for the weak!!

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 08/04/2020 09:04

Haircuts for all of us.

Tried to cut DS's hair myself last night. 'Amish' is a good look for a 6 year old, right? Confused

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 08/04/2020 09:06

Word of warning re collecting stuff from garden centres etc.
Lancashire police issued a fine to a chap who went out for a lawn mower this week.

mummyje20 · 08/04/2020 09:13

Ahh @Dieu I'm sorry, they are the ones with the fur inside- I didn't know there were others ☹️ sorry!

IamHyouweegobshite · 08/04/2020 09:13

Definitely have taken my dog to the groomer. He was due beginning of March, put off until Easter, I tried to get him cut a few weeks ago, but lockdown happened. He looks like a yeti already.

realunicorn · 08/04/2020 09:14

I wish I'd stocked up on calpol!

dd3 had a double op just before the shit hit the fan then decided to cut three teeth in quick succession. Even the pharmacy couldn't order it in at one point it was in such demand. Thanks to all the people buying multiple bottles just ' incase'

MIL lives 250 miles away and managed to trawl the shops and got two small bottles. so she sent us a delivery of calpol and those boxes of cake mixes for the older kids saying as though buying flour or cake mixes nearby is impossible.

And a hot tub

We talked about buying a hot tub but figured the thousands it would cost would be better spent on redoing the bathroom... wish we'd just bought the hot tub now. First world problem and all that but I think now life can be short so we should enjoy it.

Rhapsodyinpurple · 08/04/2020 09:28

I wish that we had gone to the tip earlier
I wish our sold house had completed and exchanged
I wish I had had my hair cut
I wish I had a better laptop for work
Managed to have our dentist check ups just before lock down, so grateful for small mercies

Iamamoleinthegarden · 08/04/2020 09:46

How did Stone Age woman do her hair.

hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 08/04/2020 10:06

For those of you saying make a will, I work in a law firm and they have said they are still doing wills. Not sure of the exact arrangements as I don’t work in that area, but I think they would speak to you by phone to sort out what you need them email it to you and advise on signing it.

hellsbellsmelons · 08/04/2020 10:06

Got my roots done.
Got my HD brows done.
Got to my dads so I could isolate with him.

Buyitinbamboo · 08/04/2020 10:06

Moved out of our flat. Bit out if our hands as it's been on the market 12 months but still

Dieu · 08/04/2020 10:27

@mummyje20

No problem - they are very confusingly named!
Thanks a mill anyway though Star

Hairdresser visit.
My hair looks terrible. Thank God hardly anyone has to see it! Grin

TimeForDinnerDinnerDinner · 08/04/2020 11:09

Got more crafting stuff in for the kids.
Hired a skip so we could've gotten on with having a good clear out.
Got our conservatory blinds fitted.

CaroleEffinBaskin · 08/04/2020 11:11

@bert3400 that must be so so frustrating.

Nagged as much as I would like to have done about getting extension done when it was planned for 18 months ago. Not going to get done now, how convenient... Sorry a personal gripe!!

Also gone to the garden centre before it shut..they're doing online orders for delivery but annoyingly just selling their made up, mega expensive bundles, probably of stuff they don't normally sell much of and def not what I want. Really miss pottering around the garden centre with my mum ..it's the small things ...

CaroleEffinBaskin · 08/04/2020 11:13

Very glad that I do however do all my own dog grooming! The owners I groom for are in a panic!

buckeejit · 08/04/2020 11:14

Sad news-decathlon have removed the swingball from my order & now out of stock everywhere. Gah!

We actually bought a new one last year but it was all weather & rubbish so took it back & didnt get round to replacing Angry

GinnyStrupac · 08/04/2020 11:19

How did Stone Age woman do her hair

I am that woman just now, looking in the mirror, and I don't think she did do her hair.

I have been wearing hats but it's getting a bit warm.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/04/2020 11:19

Bought some wool. I could have knitted loads by now!!

hellsbellsmelons · 08/04/2020 11:28

Yes indeed @GinnyStrupac - I gonna have dig out my baseball caps. Gotta be better than this mess???
