What do you wish you'd done before lockdown kicked in?

  1. taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud Grin
  1. bought more Primark 'cosy leggings' for my youngest. She has a few sensory issues with clothing, and lives in these. Typically, they've gone all holey since lockdown, and I'm not sure sewing that fabric would work.

What about you?

PositiveVibez · 07/04/2020 23:45

Bought more booze, bought more booze, bought more booze and oh yeah, bought more booze

Saladmakesmesad · 07/04/2020 23:46

Had my smear test instead of putting it off. :(

And I also wish I'd bought a breadmaker and loads of ingredients as I can't keep my family in bread.

Found a way to move my mum in with us or nearby.

wildthingsinthenight · 07/04/2020 23:46

Bought lots of plants.
Bought a swingball set.
Bought a trampoline.

flumposie · 07/04/2020 23:46

Bought loads of plants. My only 'win' is that on 21st March I had my hair cut and bought paint for the shed. Shed now painted ,but I'm desperate for shrubs for my garden.Looking online for delivery.

💔 Same

Haircut & colour (my daughters are telling me to stop colouring it as they like my silver fox lookHmm)
Eye test (I had cataracts removed in November and could do with new distance and sunglasses)
Wax removal & hearing test, as I definitely need new hearing aids but on the plus side I will have the money to pay for them (€1,750 not including the Government grant of €1,000)
Dental checkup. I will probably need 10 fillings the way I'm going😩

stargirl1701 · 07/04/2020 23:48

Bought compost.

DobbysPetCat · 07/04/2020 23:49

Stayed home and not got Coronavirus 🙄

Wehttam · 07/04/2020 23:50

Bought a lot more Alpro Oat UHT when it was £1, I have 12 cartons left which is probably a month max in our house.

Snorkelface · 07/04/2020 23:52

Resigned. I was going to resign and then I decided to wait another couple of weeks. Don't feel I can/should now, logistical nightmare.

pallisers · 07/04/2020 23:52

taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud grin

THIS! I had to cut his eyebrows today so he could see. he wasn't impressed.

Nancydrawn · 07/04/2020 23:53

Semi serious answer: bought more wine.

I'm in a state (in the US) where you can't get any alcohol delivered to your house, even by grocery delivery. Oh, and bourbon, because even if you go to the grocery stores, you can't buy any booze there, just beer and (very terrible) wine.

My dog looks like a zombie due to home haircut and I had to cancel a routine dental checkup, but I'm not hugely worried about either. There are days, though, when a small glass of a Sancerre would be so, so welcome.

mumoffluffs · 08/04/2020 00:00

Wish me and my dog had been doing our monthly stay over at my parents' house (in another city) so I didn't have to be in lockdown with my husband and be with them instead Sad.

Being in lockdown with someone who 80% of the time speaks to me as if I have done something wrong - the constant scowl on the face and irritated tone is starting to get to me a bit!

AdoptedBumpkin · 08/04/2020 00:03

I wish I had visited some of the museum's etc I was intending to. Will hopefully do some family days out after this horrible time is over.

bluegrasse · 08/04/2020 00:06

Got my son's hair cut
Bought my Mum's birthday present as it's out of stock everywhere now
Been to the tip
Collected the rest of DS's stuff from his university flat now he won't be going back
Had the boiler serviced

caringcarer · 08/04/2020 00:07

Hair cut and re-coloured.
Dogs to groomers. I've had to get clippets for them on Amazon but afraid to use them in case I make look worse.

catfeets · 08/04/2020 00:09

I was in hospital with my ill newborn until lockdown so I was almost completely out of food. Wish I had been as stocked up as usual as we really struggled to get anything due to the hoarders Hmm.
Also wish I had managed to get in to see the dentist and hairdresser as I'd had to put these off for months due to repeated hospitalisation. My partner managed to get a haircut the day before lockdown - it was already starting to look like a helmet so god knows how bad it would have looked by now Grin.

I also wish I'd put my house on the market as one more month of lockdown with my neighbour from hell will not be a pretty result.

As soon as this is all settled I'll be marketing it in the hope no one realises what a twat she is before buying it.
Fingers crossed one of her daily visitors passes her a good dose of Coronavirus.

LoveWillOvercome · 08/04/2020 00:11

Got all my family together for a family photo.

MrsFezziwig · 08/04/2020 00:16

Bought myself the massive TV I had been coveting, instead of having to watch on a tiny screen about the size of a placemat for the foreseeable future.

Absolutely the haircut, I was two days too late!

alphajuliet123 · 08/04/2020 00:19

Taken my son for a haircut.

Taken a couple of dresses back to the shops.

Bought plants/seeds/soil and some bigger pots.

Collected books I ordered from the library.

Got paint testers for various decorating jobs instead of panic buying a 5 litre tin that I don't think I even like.

Finished renovations which would have meant having an extra living room and an office - this is my biggest regret and we have argued about it.

They were all on my to do list, I've only myself to blame
(and my husband, for the last one...)

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 08/04/2020 00:19

Changed my broadband/tv package.

MulticolourMophead · 08/04/2020 00:20

I wish I'd got some rubbish down to the tip.

Chocolate1984 · 08/04/2020 00:24

Had my hair cut
Bought the kids shoes
Booked my smear test
Had my bloods taken for my thyroid

FairyDogMother11 · 08/04/2020 00:24

Definitely wish I'd had my eyebrows done, I managed to get my hair done which is unlike me Grin

Confuddledtown · 08/04/2020 00:26

Ditto on the dog groomer... ours postponed our last appointment before lockdown so the poor critter was already overdue. I'm going to have to set my husband loose on him.
