What do you wish you'd done before lockdown kicked in?

  1. taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud Grin
  1. bought more Primark 'cosy leggings' for my youngest. She has a few sensory issues with clothing, and lives in these. Typically, they've gone all holey since lockdown, and I'm not sure sewing that fabric would work.

What about you?

Bought yeast

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 07/04/2020 23:09

Tip
Bought more wool. (Well planned A project and bought correct wool)
Got elastic to make more masks.
Had dog spayed (she was going in Late March)

Hairdresser, and I wish I'd bought pasta Wink I was a bit slow on the uptake when it all started going from the shelves. Fortunately, I've always kept good stocks of toilet roll!!!

Doubletrouble99 · 07/04/2020 23:13

Been to B and Q and the garden centre so we could get all these jobs done we are stuck with at the moment.

Dyra · 07/04/2020 23:18

Get a haircut. Usually I just trim it myself, but once a year I get it done by a proper hairdresser. This time, I put it off due to having a baby. Now I wish I'd made the time.

Got the ball rolling on bathroom renovation earlier. Had plans done, but we went into lockdown just before we could get the quote. It'll be years before we can afford it now.

Sorted LO's nursery placement. I'm supposed to return to work in October. I have an agreement on e-mail, but the contract itself was supposed to be sent out the day lockdown started. The manager (understandably) decided that no new contracts were to be made. Now there's no guarantee there'll be a nursery to go to, let alone if we'll have a place.

BeamerTown · 07/04/2020 23:18

@Bdayupset - if you find a way to message me your address I will send you a spare magnifying mirror I have knocking about?

Theflushedzebra · 07/04/2020 23:20

Definitely taken the dog to the groomer. The neighbours laughed at him yesterday Grin

buckeejit · 07/04/2020 23:21

@slavetolife have you picked composite decking? If not, have a look, I highly recommend it. We've had it down for nearly 3 years now & love it

JemSynergy · 07/04/2020 23:21

Had my hair done, my roots are awful right now, I might consider going back to my natural colour in 20 years if this goes on much longer.

Bought a printer - the ones I want have been out of stock for weeks now

Bought a new trampoline for the kids - all out of stock everywhere

Bought a new lawnmower or hired a gardener grass is long now and trees overgrowing.

Stocked up on pasta and flour

More PJs or lounge wear.

@Silversun83

Yes I do it myself. I use the plaque remover tool and angle myself in the brightest light I can while holding a magnifying mirror (not the little dental ones they are far too small) and scrape the plaque behind the front teeth. It works well but my dentist advises me not to do it as he knows best. Yes we know he does but it needs doing every few days not every six months!

The interdental brushes are very good too so I use them most nights.

planningaheadtoday · 07/04/2020 23:22

Had my hair cut.

Booked a recurring click and collect slot at Asda!

Not given away my greenhouse!

Alsohuman · 07/04/2020 23:24

Had my nails done, the gel will finish halfway up soon!

Slowslowlavaflow · 07/04/2020 23:25

I wish I had bought a Nintendo Switch for the family. It has been Out Of Stock EVERYWHERE since just before the pandemic began. Today it came back in stock on the Nintendo website and sold out within 5 minutes. I had no chance whatsoever. Sigh..

user127819 · 07/04/2020 23:26

Got my hair cut. I hate having it done, so I was putting off since Christmas and now it's getting longer and longer.

Saracen · 07/04/2020 23:27

Got the parts needed to fix the bicycle. Bike shops are still open but in my case it isn't essential so I won't be going.

Not use our savings to pay off a bit of non urgent debt on a whim... My husband has now been made redundant and no guarantee of a final wage and that money would have helped tide us over for a few months.

How silly that by doing something good, I've shot myself in the foot!

Polly02 · 07/04/2020 23:30

Moved house.

ohtheholidays · 07/04/2020 23:30

Spent more time with my 3 oldest DC and our Grandson,we can skype and chat on the phone but it's not the same as being in the same room as them all,our 2 youngest still live at home thankfully.

Gone to the hairdressers and taken the 3 youngest with me,1 of my DD's got so desperate she cut her own hair, thank God by some miracle it worked out well and looks lovely.

For my DH to have taken all of the rubbish to the tip.

cannotmakemymindup · 07/04/2020 23:34

Had lots of friends over for a big meal. I was waiting because I had been so sick with my pregnancy and living somewhat like a hermit and now forced to be a hermit still. Definitely gets me a little down. I was missing my friends, extended family and human contact anyway but this is definitely not what I envisaged.

Bdayupset · 07/04/2020 23:37

@BeamerTown wow, I'm honestly touched by your generous offer x

however..... I'm a fussy bugger (easily disappointed, my husband says) and I specifically need a tweezer man mirror, because it magnifies to something like x25 (I can't remember precisely). I have a normal magnifying mirror and I can't see shit Confused. Unless of of course that's what you're offering, but I thought that was unlikely!

paradisefalls · 07/04/2020 23:38

Got my hair done. Not had it cut or coloured for a year and at the beginning of March I booked it in for the 26th (payday) then all this happened Sad

SoapIsYourFriend · 07/04/2020 23:41

Got fit.

Random18 · 07/04/2020 23:43

Bought fence paint

NurseButtercup · 07/04/2020 23:44

Paid for a gardener to cut the grass, replaced and painted the garden fence.
