What do you wish you'd done before lockdown kicked in?

  1. taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud Grin
  1. bought more Primark 'cosy leggings' for my youngest. She has a few sensory issues with clothing, and lives in these. Typically, they've gone all holey since lockdown, and I'm not sure sewing that fabric would work.

What about you?

And most definitely hugged my family more

PawPawNoodle · 07/04/2020 22:42

Wish I'd got my hair cut and my lips done.

Kittywampus · 07/04/2020 22:42

Bought a house with a massive garden Wink

More realistically, borrowed an office chair before I left the office, my back is killing me.

loopylindazdaughter · 07/04/2020 22:43

For all you mentioning diy stuff, wickes/B&Q/Homebase all available for click and collect. Or wilkos you can go and buy paints.

Got fence paint from B&Q earlier this week.

ParsnipToast · 07/04/2020 22:43

Hair cut. I was booked in for the week that self isolating was recommended for higher risk people and my hairdresser fell into that category. I was overdue a cut too so my hair is particularly bad.

Also gone to the opticians to get my glasses tightened as they are sliding down my face.

I wish I'd managed to get a rescue cat sorted too. A new cat would be excellent right now.

UnhappyMondays · 07/04/2020 22:44

Or should that be... Wink then a WHIP of the lashes in hot pursuit of the eyelid.

CoffeeandPainting · 07/04/2020 22:45

Picked a pair of glasses.

Was told i needed them, but have a pain issue that made me dither...
Wish i had just chosen a pair now

Salene · 07/04/2020 22:46

@dieu

I clean my own teeth all the time with a dentist scraper, it's very easy to do it comes off quite easily

You will get a metal dentist kit on Amazon

Got more of our stuff out of our storage unit. We'd been in temporary accommodation & had just moved into our new house before lockdown happened, so most of our stuff is still in the storage. Thankfully we got the carpets fitted & our beds, sofas back in time but we are missing so much of our stuff.

iVampire · 07/04/2020 22:47

Bought a treadmill

Dared to make a first move

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 07/04/2020 22:48

Dog groomed
Hairdressers and eye brows for me.

Itstheprinciple · 07/04/2020 22:50

Got Dd's bedroom decorated in Feb half term instead of waiting for Easter hols. It will be summer at the earliest now. It's not so much the paint but the new bed, carpet etc.

BiarritzCrackers · 07/04/2020 22:51

Had a smear.
Tried some new eyebrow pencils (mine has been discontinued).
Bought grobags, compost.

30daysoflight · 07/04/2020 22:51

Installed a wine cellar and filled it. Haven't been able to leave house for 3 weeks and no wine. Makes me sound desperate, I am Grin
I am so looking forward to my delivery tomorrow, only one I have been able to get for weeks. I am in the vulnerable category before anyone shouts at me but couldn't ask anyone to get me a bottle of wine, so not essential.

GinnyStrupac · 07/04/2020 22:52

Haircuts for us all. We were all already overdue. It's not looking good, even now, like we've all been sailing in a Force 10 gale.

Wills, sadly.

DieSchottin93 · 07/04/2020 22:55

Managed to get my eyebrow wax appointment sorted sooner 😩 been getting them waxed for 15 years now but sometimes they grow quickly and I need them done after 4 weeks, sometimes I can go 6 weeks. I'd booked an appointment for the 24th of March but Boris announced lockdown the night before so it had to get cancelled Sad I'm pretty low maintenance but my brows are the one thing I do regularly! Trying not to pluck them too much but it's so tempting....

Dieu · 07/04/2020 22:56

@OddlyDesserted thank you! Will do it myself. I think I'll find the hooky thing weirdly satisfying!

@mummyje20
Such a kind offer, thanks so much! If you do happen to have one of the £5 pairs, in black (she has a cammo pair of Primark cosy leggings, but they're just not the same apparently Hmm), please do shout! It's not the ones with all the fur inside. Size xs or small.
Thank you!

Thanks @Salene!
I actually saw one of the kits in Poundland - believe it or not - before the lockdown. I had a bit of a snigger to myself, but wish I hadn't been so damn snobby and just picked it up!

@CoffeeandPainting if you know your prescription, you can order online - I got a couple of backup pairs from Superdrug when my prescription last changed, they've been excellent, indistinguishable from the ones from my optician in terms of quality.

@Dieu (that sounds like a sneeze) Uniqlo are selling online, amazing quality

VegetableMunge · 07/04/2020 23:02

Haircut. I'm at least an inch into tatty territory.

threesecrets · 07/04/2020 23:03

Taken him to the beach. Held him. Shown him the places I love. Not taken no as an answer.

hammeringinmyhead · 07/04/2020 23:05

Bought a sand and water table for DS. When I looked on Amazon and Argos the day after lockdown started everything had gone to either out of stock or unavailable (the Amazon third parties had closed). They probably have some in B&M, where I could buy food and make it a trip for essentials, but I've heard the queues are ridiculous.

Mumof2bears · 07/04/2020 23:06

@Florencenotflo how tall is your daughter?
We may have some girls' summer clothes we could send your way (our youngest has outgrown her age 4-5 clothes now). Would like to see them find a good home - just let me know :-)

BBTHREE76 · 07/04/2020 23:07

Definately wish I had got a haircut

FannyFernackerpan · 07/04/2020 23:08

Bought one of those garden fence spraying thingies and loads of fence stain. I've got all different fence panels of different shades and hues, and I've always wanted to paint them to match, but it's a big job and I never would have had the time so I never started it. Now stuck at home and the lovely weather, I could have got it done, but I haven't got the stuff and not sure where I could get it during lockdown.
