that have taken a beating from motherhood (and or weight loss) to please recommend your go to bra styles/shops to make them look less like socks.

Thank you!

I'm a "32B" or at least that family of sizes. I do get a better shape by going down a band/ up a cup, but it is tough trying to find bras smaller than a 32 back.

It is an art getting the band size right when there's not much upholstery on the ribs

Krisskrosskiss · 07/04/2020 23:48

I know exactly what you mean. I had A cups which went up to C cups then back down again when I finished breastfeeding and lost the baby weight... they now look like socks... the only bras my tits look halfway decent in are plunge bras with half moulded cups and lace overlay... I usually find them in the M&S love rosie range like this one pictured... my tits tend to just look awful and folded over in other types of bra

Hiraeth16 · 08/04/2020 00:16

32B here.

I like Hanro Moments bras.

I wore Triumph Amourette for a few years after having dc as comfortable and fitted quite well but still felt they, and all t-shirt bras, look ‘stuck on’ (why do all fitters try and put you in something padded to make you look bigger? I just wanted to look the size I am but with some support) These Hanro bras are a more natural shape which I like, really comfortable too.
Took a lot of finding!

Etcni · 08/04/2020 00:19

try high apex bras as previously suggested (M&S, Triumph, and Gossard usually have them), or look at a specialist site like www.littlewomen.com/

@Haggisfish mines just from eBay. I only wear it if I want them to look good in an outfit or for a night out. It’s not the comfiest but works really well.

pepperpod28 · 08/04/2020 00:49

I only wear a bra if I'm out out, which is very rare, normally a plunging wonderbra. Bralettes all the way for day to day. I like sloggi zero feel bralettes. Triumph also do a great one in their body make up range.

Fozzleyplum · 08/04/2020 01:03

I have no spare flesh at all on my ribs. I find my "correct" bra intervention band size impossibly tight in my preferred make and style (Lise Charmel plunge - which is a great one to try if you are not big). I was told, by a fitter who seemed to know what she was doing, that this was likely to be for several reasons. 1. If there is no spare flesh on the ribs, there is nothing for the band to sink into. 2. Past pregnancies can cause your ribcage to be slightly expanded at the bottom. 3. French makes and styles which stop at a C cup, tend to be a bit less generous on the band. As a result, my perfect size is a band size up and a cup size down from my measurements.

PurpleTrilby · 08/04/2020 01:16

So glad I have tiny tits, never worn a bra, never will.

Bobbi73 · 08/04/2020 02:20

Go somewhere (when you can) and get properly measured and fitted. I do this quite regularly. The first time I did it was years ago. I was wearing a 36a and I came out in a 32 C. I was thrilled. They know their stock and they know what bra will fit/flatter you. Definitely recommend doing it.

Have you tried a bra that clips together at the front?

wholelottahistory · 08/04/2020 09:19

This is embrace lace from wacoal.
The stretchy lace pulls up the shaped lower cups and it's great for small shapeless boobs

@Stampy84 I was very confused for lack of a hyphen. OP should read:

“ that have taken a beating from motherhood (and or weight loss) to please recommend your go-to bra styles/shops to make them look less like socks.”

Otherwise sounds like she’s recommending we go to a shop to improve our saggy tits.

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 08/04/2020 09:31

Please worry about something more important

birdbrained · 08/04/2020 09:35

Sloggi zero-feel Bralette has changed my life! Can't imagine wearing anything else now.

Bluebooby · 08/04/2020 09:40

I was DD, now I think I'm something like a B/C in one breast and a DD in the other. If anyone knows what kind of bra I could wear I'd love to hear it as I've not worn a bra in nearly 6 years because of this. I can't wear the balcony ones as one "balcony" is lacking.

cheezy · 08/04/2020 09:40

OMG. having always worn a 34b I’ve just measured according to Boom or Bust and apparently I am a 28FF?! Confused

Bluebooby · 08/04/2020 09:41

I also misunderstood the op to mean she was telling us to go to a shop and buy better bras to improve our sagging flesh.

BuffaloCauliflower · 08/04/2020 11:16

@cheezy sounds much more likely! Very few women are actually A and B cups

PennyNotSoWise · 08/04/2020 11:39

I think I'm a B as in, it's the closest fit I can get, but the top of the cup never touches the top of my boobs (if that makes sense?) Like, my t shirts will get 'tucked in' to the cup of the bra Blush But if I go down a cup, my boobs are squashed and escaping out of the sides of the cup.

Would a plunge bra mentioned up thread help with that?

StatisticallyChallenged · 08/04/2020 11:59

That's definitely possible cheezy. An old school 34b measured a bit loose on the back could easily be a 28ff

BuffaloCauliflower · 08/04/2020 12:00

@PennyNotSoWise if the cup is gaping like that you’re nowhere near the right size. You probably need a smaller band and bigger cup, not a smaller cup. The cup isn’t a size on its own, it’s only how many inches bigger than the band it is (so a 32D and a 36D aren’t the same cup on different sized bands) What dress size are you and what bra size are you wearing?

TheVanguardSix · 08/04/2020 12:03

I have tiny tits and I love them! I can sleep on my stomach! Grin
I've always had tiny tits, apart from when I breastfed, so I'm quite fine with them.
I don't wear a bra. If I do, I wear the teen bras from Next. Slightly padded and perfect for smaller sizes. I'm not trying to look bigger anyway... just a bit less concave.

EricaNernie · 08/04/2020 12:03

i thought you were talking about the feathered variety.

BubblyWater · 08/04/2020 12:04

The bralettes look really comfy, but don't your nipples stick out through your top in them?
