Neighbor has visitors and a Bbq on the go

She bloody works for the NHS as well!
What the hell is wrong with some people?!?

The visitors are her sister, sisters DH and nephew. They seemed to be doing things in her garden, now she's lit up a Bbq.

I know there are morons still doing this but I would have thought an NHS worker would know better.

She seems visibly miffed that DS is in the garden splashing about in his water toy making a fair bit of noise. Keeps glaring at him.

I don't know whether to say something or just silently seethe. Am I being a total arse being so angry? I appreciate all of the hard work NHS workers do and stress they must be going through right now but surely they aren't above the rules?

Take a picture of your *son with them socialising in the background and put it on social media.... maybe this is a bit passive aggressive of me.

Report her

Laylor · 05/04/2020 20:12

What an absolute bunch of twats (excuse my french) I've not seen my parents, siblings or niece for many weeks and I miss them like crazy. I'm tired emotional and anxious about this virus and have a 5 week old baby that most of my family have not yet met. Today I went to asda for the first time and was shocked at how many people dont abide by the simple rules of following the arrows on the floor. I told a guy off and he said 'I am sorry but there is no need to get upset' two asda works never muttered a word. On glad you have reported them. Its idiots like them that keep us away from our loved ones. My mum is a nurse and my god she wouldnt dream of doing anything like that right now. Shes isolating herself from everyone. X

Laylor · 05/04/2020 20:14

Sorry my grammar isnt the best Shock I'm just so annoyed and couldnt type fast enough. Grin

rubberoftheband · 06/04/2020 07:51

Bloody unbelievable, how can anyone think this is acceptable! If they are NHS workers they should know better than anyone the risk of spreading this virus.

rubberoftheband · 06/04/2020 07:53

Well done for reporting OP, hopefully they'll get a visit from the police and a reasonable fine to discourage the, doing the same thing again.

TreeTopTim · 06/04/2020 08:30

I had a rant to my DP last night because for the millionth time since the lockdown began they were having a party.

Why should my life be put on hold for them to just carry on as normal. My mental health is suffering due to all of this and seeing them flout the rules just pisses me off.

So glad you reported it OP. If it happens again report again and again and again

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/04/2020 08:49

I'm a key worker (not even NHS) and sick of having to go out to work while other people stay in and moan about how they can't do X/Y/Z or make excuses for those ignoring the rules.

I don't blame you - working your arse off while other people are justifying breaking the rules.

It stinks!

HappydaysArehere · 06/04/2020 09:23

Unbelievable but then again it shows up those you once thought were normal intelligent people. This shut down is costing the country billions of pounds a day so at least let us try to make it worth while.

LagunaBubbles · 06/04/2020 18:53

Omg how many of these threads are there going to be. hmm

Plenty as long as stupid selfish idiots carry on doing what they like.

hoxtonbabe · 06/04/2020 20:03

My neighbor is the same with his BBQ and inviting friends round , god knows if he’s a NHS worker or not but I had a good mind to do down and cough on him with corona riddled self.

What people are falling to realise that some people are actually at home with the virus trying to get better, and when your chest is playing up/tight/hard to breathe and you decide to light up your BBQ so it wafts into your room it makes it worse. My cough/chest was starting to ease up then the smoke and fumes of the BBQ had it all horrible and gurgling again. I usually couldn’t give two hoots about a BBQ but we all know this is a virus that effects your respiratory system so why go out your way to do something that will/could make it worse for those around you.

lmcneil003 · 06/04/2020 20:21

@hoxtonbabe - why didn't you close the window??

hoxtonbabe · 06/04/2020 20:27

@Imcneil003

Because it was warm, I’m stuck in the house for 12 weeks, and my only bit of getting fresh air/outside is opening my window! To expect me to stay in my flat, not allowed to go out AND with windows shut is ridiculous.

RibenaMonsoon · 10/04/2020 14:00

Disparing at this woman now.
Dont really know what else to do other than report her.
Sitting in her garden with yet another visitor, googling whether b&q are open.
Then she's on the phone to someone trying to convince them to let her come over "it will be alright, I'll use hand gel".
Talking about how she couldn't stand the job any longer because she didn't want to wear a face ask any more so she has handed in her notice.

Am I being too harsh in being really pissed off now? Flouting the rules whenever it suits her. I'm trying not to be judgy about her quitting her job. I dont work for the NHS so don't know first hand how stressful it is.

She’s a bloody idiot
All you can do is ignore her and keep away from her

AdoptedBumpkin · 10/04/2020 15:42

Sounds like a nightmare neighbour even in normal times.
