Neighbor has visitors and a Bbq on the go

She bloody works for the NHS as well!
What the hell is wrong with some people?!?

The visitors are her sister, sisters DH and nephew. They seemed to be doing things in her garden, now she's lit up a Bbq.

I know there are morons still doing this but I would have thought an NHS worker would know better.

She seems visibly miffed that DS is in the garden splashing about in his water toy making a fair bit of noise. Keeps glaring at him.

I don't know whether to say something or just silently seethe. Am I being a total arse being so angry? I appreciate all of the hard work NHS workers do and stress they must be going through right now but surely they aren't above the rules?

@Thighmageddon Yeah it's on the local polices website. There's an option to report a breach of covid19 measures.

Can I ask how you reported online, my neighbour has had visitors twice that I’m aware of (both times I wasn’t at home) but if she does it and I’m home I want to report her, I looked on local police website but couldn’t see how to report...im so angry with people like this!

Mulanlin · 05/04/2020 13:54

You need to report it.
NHS workers aren’t above the rules, in fact it’s even more important for them to stick to the rules because they’re working with vulnerable people

Mulanlin · 05/04/2020 13:55

Just seen you did report it. You did the right thing!

Rupertpenrysmistress · 05/04/2020 13:56

Good for you we all need to be doing the right things. As an NHS worker I am glad there are people like you. Please tell us how you report so we all know. Thanks again.

krustykittens · 05/04/2020 13:56

While I hate the way some people are policing their neighbours, this is just taking the piss and is going to result in people not being able to leave their homes for exercise. I am glad you reported her, OP!

boli · 05/04/2020 13:58

Very selfish of the moron. Spoiling it for others

oncemorewithfeeling99 · 05/04/2020 13:58

BBQs are totally fine. What’s not fine is having anyone outside your normal full time household visit. The BBQ is neither here nor there.

justasking111 · 05/04/2020 13:58

I am baffled that her family would visit her knowing she comes into contact with possible covid patients. They are all stupid

BeenHereForAges · 05/04/2020 13:59

Also glad you reported.
People need to stop taking the piss or non of us will be allowed out.

AlmostThereKeepMoving · 05/04/2020 14:01

I just can't believe you haven't reported her yet?

RibenaMonsoon · 05/04/2020 14:01

I googled 101 online report covid 19 breach. It brought up various police websites for the different areas. Mine was at the top, guess Google knows where I am.
Then you type in the postcode or area you are in and fill in the details it asks for.
That's Sussex Polices website though. Hopefully it's a similar way to report for each county.

@AlmostThereKeepMoving I have.

My neighbours are now having a family barbecue, 3 different households, 6 adults, 6 children, since lockdown they have broken all the rules, absolutely have no intention of doing anything.

Their landlord has spoken to them about this but they are taking no notice.

Yesterday we received the letter from Boris, I imagine they received their one as well.

Also the noise is on another level.

BikeRunSki · 05/04/2020 14:02

TBH, I’m usually pretty liberal, but I am so hacked off with dickheads like this I’d ring the police. They won’t have the resource to deal with it, but it would make me feel better.

Neacy · 05/04/2020 14:03

*different.

hannabarbera · 05/04/2020 14:05

101 and report them. I was stopped the other day by the police as i had DD in the car with me. She went out to run 4 miles and i picked her up in the way home from work. Police were absolutely fine and we were within our rights but meeting for a BBQ? Nope.

YappityYapYap · 05/04/2020 14:05

You did the right thing OP. She knows the rules, we all do. There was nothing stopping her from having a BBQ with just members of her household but no, she's gone and taken members of another household into her house to have a BBQ and it's totally against the measures in place.

She's being very silly especially since she works in the NHS. Her sister has also broken the rules by making an unnecessary journey

Ohhhthepain · 05/04/2020 14:06

So the at risk people can’t leave their houses for 3 months to help stop the nhs being overloaded but a nhs worker who’s potentially come into contact feels they can have a family bbq and spread it about a bit!

I’m glad you reported.

BikeRunSki · 05/04/2020 14:07

Thank you OP

Witchofzog · 05/04/2020 14:09

Hopefully the police will pay a visit very soon. Selfish idiots

GabsAlot · 05/04/2020 14:10

nice one op -reactions on here seem to differ thread to thread another similar scenerio was met with mind your own business-glad some sense on this one

madcatladyforever · 05/04/2020 14:12

Next time she looks as your DS for making noise, I’d have to say “lockdown rules changed have they Sarah, What with all your visitors today”

This with knobs on. I work in the NHS and these cretins are putting me at risk by infected hundreds of people. I'd report them too.

Bobbiepin · 05/04/2020 14:14

The government is looking to remove our daily exercise allowance if people keep breaking rules. I am lucky enough to have a garden but for those who don't, this is their only opportunity for fresh air, being taken away by idiots like her that can't follow the rules.

mnahmnah · 05/04/2020 14:18

Our next door neighbours had a ‘gathering’ the other night. They are a group of men who live there. We saw at least 6 other men go in, some arriving in a car together, all with beer etc. Loud music.

DH rang 101. They weren’t concerned. Said they couldn’t police what people do in their own homes.
