To fucking love the clap

Now, that's a sentence I didn't think I'd say but I bloody love the clap. My whole village burst to life, people waving (socially distancing) and cheering I know it's twee, I know it won't give those at risk PPE. But it made people feel like a community.

Agree completely

BrooHaHa · 02/04/2020 20:32

Didn't hear a single thing where I live.

Found your title sentence amusing though.

yellowfishes · 02/04/2020 20:33

I love the clap, hate the fireworks.

You can get antibiotics for that, no need to be embarrassed 😂

20wedding19 · 02/04/2020 20:38

I do too! We are surrounded by high rises (London) and it's so heartwarming to see sp many people out on their balconies clapping
My sis is a nurse in NI and all her neighbours were clapping and shouting her name. Just flippin lovely

EasyTarget · 02/04/2020 20:39

I've never had it, so can't really comment. But good for you op.

I love it, lost my mum recently after a long illness of Alzheimer’s, sad but Really a relief in hindsight as she would never have survived this. I didn’t cry felt sad her life ended the way it did but no tears. Cried like a baby tonight after going out to clap, so grateful to all the caring professionals and for very one else who are helping us get through these scary times.
Hopefully you will get the recognition And financial rewards all of you deserve.

Changeofname79 · 02/04/2020 20:40

It's so cheesy but Iove it. I also loved seeing my neighbours to wave to. Made me a bit sad though, really missing everyone today. I work for the NHS and I know how horrendous it is for the frontline workers so I am glad people are showing their appreciation for them.

goldenorbspider · 02/04/2020 20:41

It's the nauseating Facebook posts I can't stand

SpratsOnParade · 02/04/2020 20:41

I'm more of a chlamydia fan personally.

Sirzy · 02/04/2020 20:41

It was great, and locally there was a cheer when a neighbour who works in a hospital admin role and another who works as a school caretaker came out to join in which I thought was nice

DioneTheDiabolist · 02/04/2020 20:42

Oh er missus.Blush

Toilenstripes · 02/04/2020 20:42

I love it too. It brings a sweet sense of community for those few minutes.

Sindragosan · 02/04/2020 20:43

Is this the first time you've enjoyed the clap?

ScarlettBlaize · 02/04/2020 20:44

YABU.

It's twee, meaningless, self-congratulatory, empty, preening, social-media-friendly bullshit. The absolute definition of virtue signalling. I can't believe how easily people fall into this shit.

Houseworkavoider · 02/04/2020 20:44

I get too emotional. I didn’t do it with the Dc tonight because I don’t want to distress them!

awaynboilyurheid · 02/04/2020 20:46

Love it too!, Glasgow did us proud tonight very emotional !, we are all in this together was lovely!

Gizmo79 · 02/04/2020 20:46

Oh give it a restscarlettblaize

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 02/04/2020 20:46

I live down an unmade lane. No paths, bit muddy, lots of space between properties. But opening the upstairs landing window we could still see the lights in the other houses and hear the clapping and cheering. It’s a bit twee, and I know it doesn’t magic up PPE etc, but it’s still bloody moving.

DioneTheDiabolist · 02/04/2020 20:47

The NHS workers on my road love it.Scarlet.Grin

20wedding19 · 02/04/2020 20:47

@Scarlett - my sis who is risking her life everyday appreciates it as well as many of her co - workers.
Not meaningless or empty in the slightest.
