(started from that now deleted thread)

As previously detailed, gathering dust in my house is the spiraliser, the diet milkshake drink shaker... at one point we had three separate keyboards.

I now have a vegetable box staring at me balefully....

Anyone else?

£150 worth of Symprove probiotics. I gave up after nearly shitting myself to death for a fortnight.

OooThatsHarsh · 01/04/2020 16:49

@JanewaysBun I second Moses basket. What a load of expensive crap

Justsaynonow · 01/04/2020 16:49

Thanks @GlamGiraffe Could you ask your son about the oven temperature? It says to preheat as hot as the oven will go, then doesn't mention what to cook the bread at. 30 min on full blast doesn't sound right?

I use my breadmaker frequently & have worn out about 4 of them over the years. Like a PP, I never bake it in the pan, just use the dough setting and then rise and shape/into the oven.

I do use my ice cream make as well, and choose healthier ingredients (lower fat). The bowl does take up a lot of freezer room but it's only for 24 h.

I also have a combined veg/ steamer rice cooker that gets a lot of use as it's foolproof and easy to clean.

I've been debating about an instapot...this discussion has planted me even more firmly on the fence.

My practically useless purchase was a big clothing steamer.

CorianderLord · 01/04/2020 16:55

I use my spiraliser fairly often, my steam mop however...

Thelnebriati · 01/04/2020 16:57

I'll swap you your steam mop for my stupidly tiny ice cream maker.

Spiraliser here. I bought it for DHs birthday, he’d started healthy eating and was eating a lot of courgettes at the time so I thought he’d appreciate it. Got that totally wrong.

My mum has a Remoska and loves it. Ive had roast chicken that she cooked in it and it was delicious- too faffy for me though. She has a soup maker and raves about that too but I’m quite happy with a saucepan and hand blender.

Grumpbum123 · 01/04/2020 17:08

I bought a special wedge cushion to stick under my arse to keep legs up during ttc years 🙈

speakout · 01/04/2020 17:10

Not for decades.

One of the joys of getting older is not falling for crap!

Soubriquet · 01/04/2020 17:14

Electric grater

Sounds good but it’s a pain in the butt to wash. So many things to take apart to wash

Though it does grate really good

Summercamping · 01/04/2020 17:15

@shockers I love pesto, I might dust the nutri bullet- off and give it s goStar

HasaDigaEebowai · 01/04/2020 17:19

Instant pot. Never used.
Babyliss big hair - I have a LOT of hair and this does bugger all to it. Complete waste of money.

MamaWeasel · 01/04/2020 17:20

Easiyo, and a new bicycle

Cohle · 01/04/2020 17:20

Slow cooker.

I work from home frequently, so I can usually just bung stuff in the oven for a few hours rather than get up at dawn to brown meat. Grin

Cohle · 01/04/2020 17:22

Also @LadyofMisrule, you may have just changed my life!

Sgtmajormummy · 01/04/2020 17:25

A buffet server. €39 from Aldi and I’d been hankering after one for ages. Trouble is, I never have buffets.

I may take PPs’ advice and use my bread maker just to knead and prove. It’s been languishing in the garage for 8 years.

My Instant Pot came out to play last week as the only advantage over a traditional pressure cooker I could see was the lack of hissing. Now with three WFHers I need to avoid intrusive noises!

ivfbabymomma1 · 01/04/2020 17:28
  • a changing table - I use it for storage but I've never changed my DS on it in my life
  • a toastie maker - can never be arsed to dig it out
  • smoothie maker
BarkandCheese · 01/04/2020 17:31

Soup maker. For the PP who asked how it trumps a pan and stick blender, it doesn’t.

Whitney168 · 01/04/2020 17:33

Whoever said the Instant Pot makes bland watery food is definitely doing it wrong. I have had mine 18 months and use it nearly every day. Porridge, fabulous soups, curries, risottos, stews.

Goes in the dishwasher to clean.

RozHuntleysStump · 01/04/2020 17:35

Instant pot
Nutribullet
Veg chopper
Soup maker

When will I learn! I did have a rice cooker and a steamer thing too but I sold it. My air fryer is amazing 😉

transformandriseup · 01/04/2020 17:35

Ab Circle Pro 😩

Aweebawbee · 01/04/2020 17:39

A telescope. Just...why?

marmiteloversunite · 01/04/2020 17:40

I bought an instant pot for my DH as he loves cooking. Used it once only. So it will be looking for a new home when we move house after corona sods off! It's obviously very marmite.

Boireannachlaidir · 01/04/2020 17:42
