(started from that now deleted thread)

As previously detailed, gathering dust in my house is the spiraliser, the diet milkshake drink shaker... at one point we had three separate keyboards.

I now have a vegetable box staring at me balefully....

Anyone else?

15 years ago I also bought a juicer. What a total waste of money and resources (for me).

In the past years I have reduced needless purchasing/collecting.

My heart suck on the arrival at a Christmas when one of those coffee pod machines arrived. It’s been in a cupboard for 18 months.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 31/03/2020 23:18

We use our air fryer for chips about once a month. Not the large size one so it's slightly too small for 4 people but a useful discipline I suppose. DH got fed up with it and bought a deep fat fryer but insists on cleaning it like it's a piece of hospital equipment and I just can't be arsed. He spends literally hours scrubbing it but everywhere around it Is greasy and smelling of fat. I hate it! Give me the air dryer any time.

ChequerBoard · 31/03/2020 23:18

Bloody ninja smoothie maker, used all of twice by teen DD who was going to make smoothies everyday. Now cluttering up my cupboards ana browning a nice layer of dust.

whiteroseredrose · 31/03/2020 23:19

A carpet cleaner the the first Amazon black Friday. We switched to hard floors a few weeks later.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 31/03/2020 23:20

We have one of those griddle gadgets advertised by an elderly boxer I think which has been a complete waste of money. Like a sandwich maker but for chicken breasts and the like. Epically shite.

Grumpos · 31/03/2020 23:20

Expensive Kitchen Aid food processor - still wrapped up after house move.

Expensive microwave with built in oven - used daily for warming of milk and that’s it. Never used the oven function. Couldn’t even work it out.

Huel meal replacements - two packs. Vile. One half a glass and nearly puked. Now live in the cupboard.

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 31/03/2020 23:21

Steam cleaner.

Summercamping · 31/03/2020 23:22

A nutri bullet- remember them? I used it every single day for about 8 weeks. Now it's just there, in the cupboard, reminding me how stupid and susceptible to marketing I am

Duck90 · 31/03/2020 23:22

It took a lot of will power, but I resisted an air fryer. I just know it would be sitting taking up space.

Again, loads of will power now involved, i resist the must purchase amazon Black Friday deals.

Itwillbeokhopefully · 31/03/2020 23:22

A "slow cooker station" 4 individual pots on one stand. Thought ahhh one for maybe soup starter, then main meals and puddings etc. Theres only 3 of us. Took up too much space.

Airfryer. Toastie machine, popcorn maker and candy floss machine all look at me sadly from the cupboard, never to see daylight again.

msmith501 · 31/03/2020 23:23

A mandolin for slicing, dicing and generally making large vegetables into smaller pieces. More chance of losing a finger and it takes ages to set up, dismantle and wash. And yet I'm a dab hand at fast slicing with a knife and have never cut myself... so why bother.

nowaitaminute · 31/03/2020 23:23

EVERY YEAR I buy a work/life planner and diary and swear I will use it for everything..I don't and I end up leaving them in my hall console table for the rest of the year! I just remember everything and use random lists so 🤷‍♀️

Furtheloveofcats · 31/03/2020 23:24

I love my remoska and I have 2 instant pots Blush. But the spiraliser and dehydrator really were a waste of money!

Ginxed · 31/03/2020 23:27

My slow cooker went to the charity shop as I couldn’t make anything edible in it. I love my air fryer and instant pot though.

lauryloo · 31/03/2020 23:33

Soup maker - everything just tastes bland.

clary · 31/03/2020 23:40

interesting. I am pretty good, don't have many of these things!

I use my steam cleaner all the time on our kitchen floor. Is a kitchen aid rubbish then? I have always fancied one.

clary · 31/03/2020 23:44

Actually I have a pineapple corer and peeler which is totally pointless, just quarter the fruit and cut out the good stuff already! But to be fair I didn't buy it, it was a gift from DH and i knew it would be bobbins when I opened it! Also have a number of cake stands which I will never use, but always think I might if I have a coffee morning for charity...in practice I could borrow some I am sure!

Ginfordinner · 31/03/2020 23:45

Steam cleaner
The breadmaker hardly ever gets used these days. I can't buy yeast anywhere anyway now.
Stand food mixer. I just use a hand held one.

TwoleftUggs · 31/03/2020 23:50

Ohh I was looking at an air fryer just today. Are they not worth having then?

gavisconismyfriend · 31/03/2020 23:51

Live my instantpot! There’s a new one out that does sous vide - very fancy, but I can’t justify another one...

hadtojoin · 31/03/2020 23:54

Steam cleaner, coffee percolator - found out we don't like burnt tasting coffee, Kenwood food processor, a bugger to clan all the bits, easier with a knife - should have bought the kenwood chef instead. Bread maker. Slow cooker - too much faffing
But I absolutely love my electric pressure cooker takes only 30mins to get meat that falls apart.

Shangrilalala · 31/03/2020 23:54

Raclette Grill. Loads of faff for some expensive grilled cheese. What was I thinking?

MintyMabel · 31/03/2020 23:57

Slow cooker and George grill get loads of use in our house, same with the toastie maker - although it was actually bought as a waffle maker and I think we’ve done that twice in 5 years.

My never use is one of those vacuum pack things. We only use it when we’ve bought a big load of meat from Costco so maybe once every three months. It is really faffy and the bags are really expensive. It’s too bulky to sit out on the counter so you wouldn’t use it for one off things.

hopsalong · 01/04/2020 00:00

Expensive Android based Kindle type thing (but more expensive than a Kindle, much harder to use, terrible flickering on screen).

Floralnomad · 01/04/2020 00:01

Bread maker , rice cooker , slow cooker , slushie maker - all been disposed off after minimal use . I was given a large Ninja Foodi for Christmas which I managed to use 3 times before I realised that the beep noise when I turned it on was turning my usually very sane dog into some kind of nervous wreck so that’s back in its box .
