(started from that now deleted thread)

As previously detailed, gathering dust in my house is the spiraliser, the diet milkshake drink shaker... at one point we had three separate keyboards.

I now have a vegetable box staring at me balefully....

Anyone else?

Oh and the kitchen aid is good f you bake a lot. I make a lot of cakes and if you do, especially bigger ones, and icing n it's very handy but it does take up space

Worriedmutt · 01/04/2020 05:32

Kenwood Chef. I used it to make bread till I discovered the no knead method. I use a hand held whisk for cakes etc, food processor for slicing and grating, so the Chef is redundant.
A Nutribullet makes great gazpacho, no need to peel anything (except the garlic), just deseed peppers and chuck everything in. Also good for making pancake batter.

One of those rice cooker pots you plug in. Used it once, rice was perfect. Used it a few times after that and the rice didn't cook properly. Been stuck in a cupboard for a year since Hmm

PureedSocksAndPants · 01/04/2020 06:12

Steam cleaner with a load of attachments. An enormous faff to set it up. But despite all the steam it doesn’t seem to make any difference.

I have a mini disc player - bought in the 90s supposed to be the thing to take over from cassette players.
Was going to look up a pic so you know what it's like but there's lots for sale on line, and their extras eg mini disc holders, who knew? great, can try to sell mine now

Greyeye · 01/04/2020 06:18

I have a dolls house that I love and have decorated.

Recently, I bought a expensive kit to make a miniature Norwegian house. It is so fiddly and really crappy quality. I can see it gathering dust before I eventually bin it.

RedHelenB · 01/04/2020 06:29

HennyPenny4 our dance teachers used those ubtilnquire recently.

crazydiamond222 · 01/04/2020 06:38

I find bread makers really handy for kneeding the bread but really rubbish at cooking it. For those of you who have given up using one try just mixing and kneeding your loaf in the bread maker before cokking it in the oven. It comes out 100x better as it has room to rise and gets a much better crust.

A steam mop. Just moved the dirt around. Pointless.Confused

Bluesheep8 · 01/04/2020 07:31

Oh and an electric was tart warmer thing. Useless.

kemosabeimalone · 01/04/2020 07:54

I second the Elvie pelvic exerciser thing - I really wanted It to work as a) it’s expensive and b) I have the pelvic control of fast trickling brook when I laugh, sneeze, cough, run or jump. I really tried hard with it for a week or two but I could not make it work for me in any position. I signed up to a research group and found out that embarrassingly those with a bigger than average vag (ahem) would struggle Blush to squeeze the gadget effectively. I was told they had had lots of reports of this especially from those that had had two or more children and they are trying to develop a range of slip covers to bulk the gadget out. I really hope they do. In the meantime I didn’t learn my lesson and bought some Slendertone type cycle shorts that target the pelvic area (again horribly expensive). They are an absolute faff to get on - you have to slather yourself with gel and I ended up giving myself a nasty electric shock Hmm. I then got pregnant so they have also been confined to the back of the cupboard! Sigh!

A man Grin!

AnnieOH1 · 01/04/2020 07:59

@TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams - re your DH and the fat fryer, if you know anyone with a Makro card try and get hold of some Deepio powder by Proctor & Gamble. Lakeland do the spray but it's not as effective as the powder. It comes in a huge box (like a big washing powder box) and is a really powerful agent against grease and carbon build up for fryers, ovens etc. Less than £10 a box. It works miracles in double quick time :)

yearinyearout · 01/04/2020 07:59

Pasta maker

WeakAndWeary · 01/04/2020 08:34

@2tired2function - thanks. Interesting about the beans. I think I'm going to pester for one Grin

Sleepsoon7 · 01/04/2020 08:37

Soup maker - used once and soup (flavoured water) was vile. Exercise bike. Bread maker. Machine that delivers a fresh boiled cup of water (still in box as we have a perfectly usable KETTLE). Steam cleaner - used a couple of times. Too much faff. Jet washer - still in box. Carpet cleaner - still in box. I could go on......

clareOclareO · 01/04/2020 08:39

Amazon Echo Show. I simply feel too ridiculous talking to it.

Gwynfluff · 01/04/2020 08:54

@ kemosabeimalone you’ve made me laugh with your unfortunate dimensions

Breadmaker was sold after a labour a month and I’ve never used the Magimix, though DP once did some breadcrumbs in it, so worth the £200.

Tried again with slowcooker and use spiraliser

Queenoftheashes · 01/04/2020 08:55

£400 on tria laser hair remover

Queenoftheashes · 01/04/2020 08:56

On a positive note I love my spiraliser and slow cooker and a cordless vacuum changed my life !

grammarhelp · 01/04/2020 08:59

A huge lump of a food processor. I had to buy a big plastic box to store it. It can't be stored in the kitchen as it is too big
I had dreams of being a kitchen godess.SmileSad

HerMajBishop · 01/04/2020 08:59

Another bread maker gathering dust here.

Juicer (although we only got a crappy cheap one).

DD went through a baking phase and we have a mini doughnut maker and waffle iron that rarely see the light of day.

HarrietThePi · 01/04/2020 09:05

I bought an epilator once. Realised I was never going to get used to that level of pain, and I have light blonde hair on my legs that I have rarely shaved or waxed in 12 years so I'm not sure why I thought I wanted an epilator!

WisestIsShe · 01/04/2020 09:06

@GlamGiraffe care to share the bread recipe? Sounds yum.

Shockers · 01/04/2020 09:19

@Summercamping- I use my nutribullet to make pesto Grin.
